Recently patented, DELTA GROUND ANCHORS are an innovative and effective method of securing your tent awning  or marquee.  They have many distinctive features including an increased surface area for resistance and a remote point of attachment to minimize leverage. Manufactured of stainless steel, the rigidity of the channel section ensures easy insertion even on the toughest ground.

 The patented DELTA design completely overcomes the problems associated with conventional methods of securing guy ropes. DELTA Ground Anchors are totally dependable and different to any other anchoring system on the market today.

Traditional pegs consisted of wooden stakes. Today for convenience and lightness, metal pins, thin angled steel sections and plastic are all used.  Wooden pegs easily split readily.  The alternatives tend to be so insubstantial that they barely penetrate the soil without bending or breaking. All conventional pegs fail to hold under the load of constant guy tension plus the wind for three main reasons.

·        With the point of attachment at the top of the peg the guy line produces maximum leverage; this causes the peg to move in the direction of tension

·        Normal pegs have a small surface area to resist guy tension

·        Modern pegs have little, or no, rigidity making their practical use very limited and giving a short life

Anyone erecting a tent, awning or marquee has almost certainly experienced problems with ineffective, cheap or disposable pegs, either as supplied or readily available on the after-sales market

The Delta difference is:

·        The most important and unique feature is the position of the guy attachment point which ensures that the load is evenly distributed to the ground and eliminates any leverage.

The DELTA Ground anchors range will include lightweight composites for backpackers and medium/heavyweight stainless steel versions for family tents, awnings, marquees and other applications like 'Off roading'.

All are compact and incorporate the DELTA holding power and basic strength.

A Nylon composite version is now available.

Light enough for camping, strong enough for awnings. it is made from super tough nylon 66, this composite    incorporates a small amount of rubber to increase impact resistance. This is lightweight 'state of the art' equipment for modern campers, caravanners and backpackers.

Weighing just 42g, these pegs have been tested  at Exeter University at up to 72Kg (1700 times their own weight !)

In Development are the Winch Anchors:

A heavyweight version has also been developed , 16 inch / 406mm, suitable for large marquees and  off roading. Built to the same standards as the standard ground anchor, using high quality stainless steel they will last a lifetime.

The 'Winch Anchors' are larger again, 24 inch / 610mm and are designed as anchors for winching 4 X 4's out of tricky situations.

These have been developed and are currently under going evaluation by -UK MOD - The United States DoD and locally at Exeter University.

A lightweight version developed by Exeter Advanced Technology. 

Suitable for tents, awnings, backpacking and expedition use.

The original and strongest Delta Ground Anchors are produced from tough and corrosion resistant stainless steel channel section.  Internal dimensions 12 x 18 x 12 mm, thickness 1.5 mm, standard stainless steel and nylon composite anchors are 150mm X 150mm set at 60 degrees.

This rigid design was tested up to 200 Kg by 'Marlift' in Plymouth in compacted ground.  They have an advised rating of 115 Kg.

The new nylon composite peg has been tested at Exeter University at up to  72 Kg, over 1700 times their own weight.

All of our stainless steel anchors are assembled individually,   THEY ARE NOT MASS PRODUCED

Tested up to 200kg by 'Marlift', our stainless steel pegs have an advised rating of 115kg

'Super Tough' nylon 66 top grade nylon composite incorporating minute amounts of rubber for impact resilience.
