Tourist Board's coveted 5 star 'Excellent' Rating.

The Park is run by the owners Viv and Vanessa McGuinness who live on site, and whose aim is to provide a friendly atmosphere in a peaceful setting.

This sheltered five star, five pennant, award winning Camping and Caravan Park is ideal for quiet and peaceful family holidays. Situated on the outskirts of the village of Newchurch, near Sandown and Shanklin. Caravans, motorhomes and tents are all welcome.

Pleasant rural setting the site offers flat, gravel roads, level well drained meadow land with facilities to a very high standard.

Within easy reach of some of the Island's finest beaches, the Park is just off the beaten track. Sandown and Shanklin are only three miles by road; both these towns share the same sheltered bay with its sandy beaches and safe bathing. With good access the Park is sheltered by an established belt of trees and all the pitches are level, individually marked and generous in size; the water points and soakaways are at frequent intervals. A children's play area is provided.

The Park

Our landscaped Park is carefully laid out with level, well drained and generous sized pitches divided by a variety of trees and hedges. All pitches have their own electric hook-up – some 10 amp and some 16 amp and approx half our pitches have their own water supply. Parking is available alongside each pitch. We have no holiday homes for hire on the Park.

The Park consists of 10 acres with 120 pitches. Trees and shrubs break the Park up into sections, giving a feeling of privacy. The grass is kept close mown and there is ample room for each site to have a car alongside the unit.

Facilities include:- extremely good television reception,  Electric hook up points to all pitches,  heated and ventilated toilet block complex which is conveniently situated and provides: Disabled facilities graded category 2, An abundance of really hot water even at peak times, Showers hot and cold,  Cubicled vanity units, Electric shaving points, Free hair dryers, Free electric point for own equipment, Hand driers and soap dispensers, Baby bath, Family bathroom (for which there is a small charge), and family rooms,

Fresh milk and other basic supplies, including Camping Gaz and Calor, are available from the combined shop and reception. The highest priority is given to the upkeep of the Park and in particular to the cleanliness of the toilet and shower facilities. Hard work and diligence in all areas has resulted in the Park achieving the Tourist Board's coveted 5 star 'Excellent' Rating.

There is a 5 mph speed limit throughout the Park with clearly marked speed bumps in several locations. However, the speed bumps allow access on either side to allow safe passage for wheelchairs and other mobility vehicles.

There is disability parking in front of Reception and by the toilet/shower, laundry and dishwashing facilities for those who need it.

At night the main car park and the area around the customer facilities is well lit and low level general lighting is provided around the rest of the Park.

The Reception area doorway has small ramps but there is a clearly marked bell by the door for those who need assistance.

We have a key access shower/toilet facility for those guests with disabilities. This facility has an audible and visual alarm in case of difficulties. There is a small ramp up to this unit. In addition we have two family shower/toilet units that have level access. One of these units has been fitted with bars, etc to assist guests with disabilities.

The Park has a small shop which provides basic goods and camping and calor gas. Safeway/Morrison is 5 minutes away by car.

Assistance dogs are welcome on the Park and we have two dog walks.

There is no 24 hour service available on the Park. Reception is open from 9.00 am until 6.00 pm, however staff are resident on the Park should there be an emergency.

Upon arrival guests will be shown to their pitch by a member of staff, the facilities will be pointed out and each guest will be given a copy of our Welcome Leaflet which contains a wealth of information. Copies of our Welcome Leaflet are available in large print and on cassette.

Surrounding Area

The Island offers a great diversity of scenery and activities. Half the Island is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and there are over 120 attractions and places of interest to visit. The Park itself is located in an ideal position to reach all parts of the Island. There are pleasant walks and bicycle rides; for example from the Park you can get on to a track that follows the route of the old railway and this offers a relatively flat route to Sandown. Within a mile of the Park there is coarse fishing and for those interested in gardening several garden centres.

Newchurch village is five minutes on foot and there you will find a pleasant country inn which serves food and a Norman Church. Further afield there are many activities available including fishing - both sea and freshwater, golf, tennis, squash, indoor swimming, horse riding, seabathing, windsurfing, sailing, etc. Most of the places of interest are situated in the eastern part of the Island, within a few miles of the Park. For anyone wishing to visit the western end, the Needles are only 19 miles away.
