Manor Court Farm
welcomes Campers and Caravan users to stay and enjoy the farm atmosphere and the
friendly animals.
The
farm is located in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, on the
main A264 road, 5 miles west of Tunbridge Wells and 1/2 mile east of Ashurst
village. The Channel Tunnel is approximately an hour away by car.
Manor Court Farm is a working arable and sheep farm of 350 acres, with cornfields, pastures and woodlands stretching to the river Medway. We have a flock of around 500 sheep. Guests are invited to meet the animals and explore the farm which has extensive public footpaths including the Weald Way and the Sussex Border Path.
You choose your own secluded space - there are no marked sites - in the old orchard or on the grass areas around the old brick and tiled Kentish buildings or amongst the trees overlooking two large ponds where mallard and moorhen nest.
Facilities
Picnic tables and benches and camp-fire sites, and a limited number of electric hook-up points, are available in various places. Bags of wood can be bought at the farmhouse. A recycling point for glass, paper and cans is also provided, and there is a chemical toilet emptying point. A recently renovated old farm building now offers superb toilet and shower facilities, and has a washing-up and laundry area.
Rates
Camping - £6.00 per Adult, £4 per child. Electric hook up £2-50 per night.
Walking and Cycling
Manor Court Farm has joined the South East England Tourist Board Walkers and Cyclists charter which means that we provide additional facilities and assistance for those guests who arrive on foot or by bicycle. These range from drying facilities to a lift to the pub in the evening. The farm is set in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and there is a wealth of wildlife, footpaths (including the Weald Way and the Sussex Border Path) and outdoor activities on the doorstep. The farm boasts ancient, semi-natural woodlands, ponds, historic landscape features and old ironstone quarries. A farm Nature Trail has been produced and is available to those wishing to explore the farm and learn a little of the natural history; wildlife on the farm includes kestrel, skylark, foxes, fallow and roe deer, badgers and a wide range of plant species (e.g. wild garlic, bluebells, primroses and Himalayan balsam).
