Monkton Wyld Farm Caravan Park is situated three miles inland on the edge of the Marshwood Vale, a sparsely populated farming area, with small villages and little country roads. The coastal towns of Charmouth and Lyme Regis which have a great deal of charm, are only a few minutes away.
The caravan park has a warm and friendly atmosphere and has been run by Joanna and Simon Kewley, the park owners, since they opened it in 1991. Since then Joanna and Simon have gone to great lengths to develop an ideal holiday location for families and those who prefer a relaxing and spacious spot in the country. We are only a short drive from the coast. There are many popular attractions in the vicinity, safe, sandy, bathing beaches, a beautiful coastline and the countryside of West Dorset which is remarkably unspoilt and in many ways is quite unique.

The play area
The grassed play area is set well away from all traffic and roads and has includes a large climbing frame, a football goal, badminton net, swings and slides. Parents with young children can request pitches that overlook the play area.
The big attraction for children of all ages are the two, big, round, slow bounce trampolines. Families return to Monkton Wyld year upon year just to let the children have another go at them.

Free tow out from compound to pitch except stays of one night only, when a £5.00 towing fee is levied.
When space permits boats or trailers may be stored in the compound, there is a £5.00 tow out charge.
No extra charges for awnings. By arrangement, second cars/ boats must be parked as directed. No charge for day visitors to existing guests.N.B. Caravan pitches are either grass or hard standing. Guests may request certain areas of the park but no specific pitches are ever guaranteed.
Deposit £5.00 per pitch per night but site fees to be paid in full two weeks in advance for high season, weekend bookings and Easter breaks.
Pup tents by arrangement only and must not exceed 2.0m x
Fees are inclusive of V.A.T. at 17.5% - Payable in full on arrival.
Cheques accepted if supported by bankers card.
Storage
A hard standing caravan storage area is available to those using either the Monkton Wyld Farm Park or the Camping and Caravanning Club Charmouth Site but general storage to others is also on offer. There is a free tow out service from the compound. Visitors 'phoning in advance will be able to arrive on the parks with their caravan already sited on pitch! On departure, the caravan will be returned to the compound on your behalf.

Yurts
Over the the years we have often been asked if we are able to provide ready equipped tents. We have gone one better and can now offer a fully equipped 20' diameter 'Yurt' for your holiday.
Yurts are
traditional dwellings from central Asia that have been in use for hundreds if
not thousands of years. A yurt is known as a Ger (meaning home) in Mongolia, or
an Oy by the Turkic tribes of Western Mongolia though the word yurt itself is
derived from Russian origins. This hand built yurt is made in the west
country by local craftsman using natural materials. The walls are a traditional
trellis construction
using ash with the roof spars made of ash and a solid elm timber floor, the entrance is a solid ash double door!! The tent material is heavy duty Indian canvas, able to withstand all that West country weather can throw at it. In the hot days of summer the yurt remains comfortably cool.
Although of traditional design, the yurt at Monkton Wyld is designed for a comfortable family holiday. The main yurt provides sleeping for four using one double and two single futons, an adjacent traditionally designed tent provides further sleeping accomodation for two.
A wood burning stove is a central feature of the yurt, suitable for taking the chill off a cool spring evening and making the yurt a cosy retreat on blustery autumn days after an exhilarating walk along the Dorset Heritage coast.
The yurt is beautifully furnished with floor and wall rugs and has two large bean bags for relaxation in front of the telly!
What makes it really special is the clear apex which floods the Yurt with light during the day and allows you to sleep gazing at the stars at night.

One bedroomed ground floor holiday apartment
Immediately opposite the caravan park a one bedroom ground floor holiday apartment is available for rent, complete with its own private south facing terrace with garden furniture overlooking a small paddock.
The holiday apartment has been incorporated into a barn conversion which is has been built as our new family home. It has a separate entrance to the main dwelling and is ideal for use by friends or relatives using the holiday parks.
The apartment is generously furnished and consists of a large entrance hall with plenty of room for coats and wellies. A fully equipped kitchen including dishwasher and washing machine. The sitting room has french doors leading to the terrace. A two seater sofa bed and arm chairs, TV and video player and internet connection. The bedroom has one double and one single bed with plenty of storage space. There is a generously sized shower room with unlimited hot water. Full underfloor heating and electricity is included and the apartment is fully equipped for four people together with bed linen for the bedroom and sofa bed.
