FOREST GLADE HOLIDAY PARK is a small country estate owned and managed by the Wellard family. It has been developed over 28 years into a top class holiday retreat. Situated on the Blackdown Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The Park consists of ten
acres of flat rich grassland set in three hundred acres of pine forest. Our
sheltered pitches are suitable for all types of mobile holiday accommodation.
Our small fleet of holiday caravans provide comfort and value for those looking
for a self-catering holiday.

The park consists of ten acres of flat, rich grassland set in three hundred acres of pine forest sheltered from the wind from all directions. It is ideally situated for all types of mobile holiday accommodation and has "Holiday Caravans" for hire for guests who prefer an inland natural wooded park giving space, freedom and peace in one of the few undiscovered parts of the West Country. The walks through the forest are captivating all year round with deer to be seen for the early risers. Within a few minutes drive there are several thatched village inns serving excellent food and drink.
Site facilities
We welcome touring caravans, motorhomes and tents on our touring pitches which are large, flat, sheltered and well drained. We have a large number of hard standings and electricity is available on the majority of pitches. In addition we have two full-service pitches for touring caravans and two for motor caravans, which are hard standings with electricity, a water supply and grey water drainage.
A modern, heated facilities building contains ample toilets and wash basins with free hot water, showers, hair and hand dryers, all designed with comfort in mind. The disabled visitor is equally well catered for with a specially designed unit containing WC, low level wash basin and shower. There is also a parent and baby room, laundry and dishwashing facilities
Our Christmas Tree Field is handy for the swimming pool and play areas and is all grass with two electric hook-ups.
We use our
Five Acre Field for camping at busy weekends and in the summer
holidays. This grassy field is level and sheltered and there are no marked
pitches, or electric hook-ups. Although there is a short walk to the amenities
this is proper camping with space and freedom.
We welcome rallies and groups, including guides and scouts on this field. We
also take groups and rallies on the main park, if electric hook-ups are
required, but only out of season
We welcome tents and Motor caravans and tourers. However large motor caravans and touring caravans must book in advance. Awnings extensions and gazebos can only be erected with the agreement of the duty manager on arrival at the park !
The free indoor heated swimming pool and the adventure play area keep the children amused for hours. There is also a soft - play area for young children and a popular games room.
We have a fully equipped shop, with Off-licence and a Take away available early evening, except Sunday.
Accommodation in our luxury modern Holiday Homes
Please note all our holiday accommodation is non-smoking
All our holiday caravans contain the following: 2 bedrooms a double and a twin; shower room with toilet; electric radiators in bedrooms and shower room; lounge/diner; full-size gas cooker; hot water system; refrigerator; microwave; colour television; gas fire. They are equipped with blankets, pillows, crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. Please bring your own sheets and pillowcases. Outside patio table and 4 chairs.
Blackdown - These are modern 12 wide holiday caravans with a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, which makes into a double. The twin room also has a fold-down bunk. In addition there is a fold-out double bed in the lounge/diner. These are all pet-free.
Otter - These are modern 12 holiday caravans with the same layout as the Blackdown, but we allow dogs in these.
Self-Contained Flat (Pet-free) -
Forest Glade also has a 2 person self-contained flat consisting
of a double bedroom (with room for a cot), a shower room with toilet, and a day
room with lounge, kitchen and dining areas. The kitchenette is equipped with a
full size fridge and gas cooker, kettle, toaster and microwave. There is a
colour television and a radio. The french doors open onto your own balcony. The
flat is not suitable for toddlers or young children. Duvet, pillows and bed
linen are provided. Please bring your own towels and tea towels..
Storage at Forest Glade
Touring caravans are stored in a locked compound which is alarmed and monitored using CCTV. Only park staff are permitted to move caravans in and out of the compound. Access to your caravan is available throughout the year but when the park is closed this must be arranged in advance by telephone.
Many of our storage customers use their caravans on the park. We require a minimum of 24 hours notice to tow your caravan out onto a pitch. There is no tow out fee, but there is a minimum stay of 2 nights. We ask you to book a pitch, with a deposit, at busy times such as all the bank holidays, Easter and throughout the school summer holidays. Over Bank Holiday weekends the minimum stay is 3 nights. We offer a £1.50 per night discount on the standard pitch fees in high season.
