Celyn Brithion
is a family
run Camping site within The Snowdonia National Park. It has spectacular scenery all around,
green and purple mountains, ancient woodlands, fast flowing rivers and within
easy reach of the coastal resorts of Barmouth and Aberdovey.

There is a choice nearby of sandy beaches, sailing, fishing, activity centres for most outdoor pursuits, mountain biking, horse riding and quad biking.
Cader Idris, ideal for walkers and the Dovey Valley Trail. Bird watching, RSBP centre, Bala Lake and Lake Vyrnwy.

The Old Station Coffee Shop (Licensed) (200 Metres):- serves home baked light meals and snacks throughout the day.
The Buckley Pines Hotel (300 Metres):- This fully licensed family run hotel is open all year round and open to non-residents. For casual dining, visit the Buckley Bistro or Dyfi View Restaurant - ideal for Sunday lunch. Takeaway meals also available.
The Red Lion Hotel (10 Min Walk):- Bar, Restaurant & Family lounge area. Takeaway meals also available.
The Dolbrodmaeth Riverside
Hotel:- Open to non-residents,
families welcome, Riverside Restaurant with select
menu, public bar, bar meals available.
Mallwyd Garage and Shop:- for
everyday essentials and Caffi Carys for hot meals/snacks.
The Brigands Inn: - open to non-residents, fully licensed, open all year round.
Dinas Mawddwy:- is close to the market towns Machynlleth (market day every Wednesday) and Dolgellau (market day every Friday). On the doorstep is the Meirion Mill where you can buy gifts, jewellery, pottery and crafts, woollens and much more. With stunning views of the mountains and River Dyfi, the Meirion Mill was the terminus of the Old Mawddwy Railway. Next to the entrance gate, the double arched Packhorse Bridge, built over 300 years ago, spans the river.
Places of interest to visit
Enjoy an inspiring walk to the scene of King Arthur's last battle at Camlan, a place steeped in myth and legend. King Arthur's Labyrinth at Corris, where an underground boat will take you into spectacular caverns where tales of King Arthur are told with stunning light effects and sound.
Llechwedd Slate Caverns: - Travel underground on Britain's steepest passenger railway to reach the bottom of the Deep Mine for a dramatic sound and light programme presenting working conditions as they were.
Centre for Alternative Technology :- Ride the water powered cliff railway into an inspiring experience with plenty to stimulate and amuse both young and old.
Climb through Snowdonia National Park with views of the Vale of Ffestiniog on the Ffestiniog Railway from Pothmadog to Blaneau Ffestiniog.
Activities in the area
Excellent golfing facilities at Aberdovey, Dolgellau, Machynlleth, Borth and Harlech to name a few.
Sea fishing trips are available from Aberdovey and Barmouth, specialising in Tope, Bass and Black Bream.
For the energetic, there is unlimited walking and climbing including the stunning mountain of Cader Idris, or why not try the dry ski slopes of Rhiw Goch Centre, whether you are a beginner or perfecting your technique, and enjoy the views to the Rhinog range.
Mountain biking, quad biking, clay pigeon shooting, horse riding, beautiful beaches - Aberdovey, Fairbourne and Barmouth, RSBP centre, Bala Lake, Lake Vyrnwy, are all within easy reach of the site.
Directions
From Bala:- Take the A494 S.W. to Dolgellau then the A470 for 11 miles. Continue past the village of Dinas Mawddwy following signs for the Meirion Mill. Site is directly opposite the mill on the left-hand side.
From Welshpool:- Follow the A458 to Mallwyd, turn right at roundabout on the A470, and continue for approx. 1.5 miles, site is on the right hand side.

Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead and under control at all times and must not foul the site. Hygienic disposal of any fouling is the responsibility of the dog owner.
