Au Martin Pêcheur is a Chambre d'Hote or Bed and Breakfast with a Gite which was originally the school for the hamlet of 'La Chaudeau' and nestles within the forest of the Vosges alongside the River Semouse.

The border between Lorraine and Franche Comté are the Semouse and the little stream that runs alongside side the property.

La Chaudeau' is situated on the 'route thermale' with the ancient Spa towns of Bains-les-Bains and Plombières-les-Bains are only a short drive away. We are also ideally suited for those who love the countryside for cycling, walking, bird watching, fishing and exploring the many historic places of interest over the Vosges mountains in Alsace, and in the departments of the Vosges and Haute Saône.

The nearest village is about 3 miles away and has all essential shops and there are larger supermarkets about 10 minutes drive away

Alternatively one can just sit quietly and relax by one of the woodland glades or by one of the many rivers and watch the wild life which range from Pine Marten to Red Squirrel and Deer to Wild Boar. '

The house of 'Au Martin Pêcheur' is about 200 years old and the Chambre d'hote or bed and breakfast facility has 5 attractive bedrooms which have been recently upgraded.

Family Room:- The Family Room comprises of 3 single beds and a cabin bed giving a total number of 5 beds.

Twin Bedded Rooms:- There are 2 Twin Bedded Rooms on the first floor each with their own en-suite facility, one has a bath and the other a shower.

Bedroom 1:- (in the 'Grenier') there is one room comprising of a double and a single bed.

Bedroom 2:- twin bedded room which is more suitable for young people due to the sloping roof.

Please Note:- These two rooms share the same bathroom facilities.

Dining Room

The dining room is fresh and airy and comfortably furnished and decorated.

Courtyard:- The courtyard is shared with the Gite.

The Gîte - Sleeps 8

The Gite was originally built as the village school of La Chaudeau in the 19th Century. The Gite is on the 1st & 2nd Floors & in the front is the walled 'Court'

There are 4 twin bedded rooms all of which are comfortably furnished and decorated.

The gite has a dining room, lounge, kitchen and 2 bathrooms. These extend the length of the Courtyard on the first & second floor and are accessed by the internal old stone school staircase.

The courtyard is shared and has a BBQ.

The nearest airport is Mulhouse/Basle which is about 1¾ hours drive away
