LE CHAT CHOCOLAT is a traditional restored Normandy farmhouse offering character and atmosphere combined with modern comforts and facilities

At Le Chat Chocolat you will receive a warm, friendly and attentive welcome. Gourmet quality (but unpretentious) French , International and Asiatic/Oriental meals are available on a Table d'Hôtes basis. We offer first-class hospitality at competitive rates for overnight stops and short breaks, with generous reductions for extended visits.
We are ideally
situated
for an overnight stop for those travelling
further afield - and we do not operate any minimum-stay policy.
Forges-les-Eaux
is less than a 2-hour drive from
Calais
or Boulogne,
or a mere 40-minute drive from
Dieppe,
and is a short, easy drive (on a straight road) from Junction 10 of the A28
autoroute. For those travelling to
South West France,
Forges-les-Eaux
is a good place to break your journey, giving you a reasonable distance to
travel on the next day.

Accommodation
Beds at Le Chat Chocolat are up to date with good quality mattresses to assist a good night's sleep. Rooms are either king, double or twin-bedded, and a third (single) bed can usually be added if required (a fourth bed may be available in the Persian Room) - or a cot for children up to 4 years old - and a camp-bed or an airbed to squeeze in another person in a pinch. Duvets are provided as standard, but additional blankets are usually available on request, as are extra pillows - two non-allergenic pillows are automatically provided for each guest.
For the benefit
of those of our guests who have
difficulty with stairs:-
we have created two of these guest rooms on the
ground floor,
one with no steps at all and one for which we can provide a
ramp
to enable
wheelchair-using
guests to easily negotiate the few shallow steps leading to it.
The
Burmese Suite:-
is
situated on the
first
floor
and is self-contained. Ceramic tiled flooring, in marbled pastel white,
complements the exposed beams, whilst the décor is warm and relaxing. The main
bedroom contains a
king-size
four-poster bed
with two bedside tables, built-in wardrobe, bookcase, full-length mirror and
additional washbasin, and overlooks the undulating countryside to the south.
The secondary bedroom area:- has a single bed, armchair, television and video-tape
player, with a window overlooking the front courtyard. Three steps lead up to the dressing area (with a chest-of-drawers and a mirrored
dressing table), off which is the large, luxurious and fully-equipped
bath and shower room
which is naturally lit by a Velux window.
The Tonkinese Room:- (with its fully-equipped ensuite shower room, which is naturally lit by a Velux window), is on the first floor, with delightful views of the picturesque front courtyard and also over the countryside to the rear (almost due south). This good size room is furnished with comfortable twin beds (with an additional single bed) and an attractive white wicker bedroom suite, and has a television and video-tape player. The harmonious decor is enhanced by the traditional rustic style solid wooden flooring, and a slightly vaulted ceiling.
The Siamese Room:- on the ground floor, is approached from the far end of the lounge, up three steps (a ramp is available if necessary; prior notice advisable). The self-contained accommodation is reached by a door leading into a small vestibule. From here, one door leads to the fully-tiled private shower room with shower, wc, heated towel rail and floor-to-ceiling vanity/storage units housing a washbasin. Natural light is provided by a high-level window. From the vestibule another door leads into the large bedroom with attractive, mottled-aquamarine wood grain flooring. A Double bed and an additional single bed, provide flexibility of sleeping accommodation. Two open-able windows with electric shutters (for extra privacy) overlook the interior veranda, with a (restricted) view of the picturesque front courtyard and its traditional colombage & torchis barns and coach house. As the windows are effectively internal, the Siamese Room is equipped with an air-conditioning unit (although this is rarely needed). This bright and spacious room is particularly warm in the winter and can be the coolest room during the hot summer months.
The
Persian Suite:-
is
on the
ground floor,
approached from the front corner of the dining room or directly from the front
courtyard
via
a ramp. There are no steps involved, thus
giving easy access to this spacious room, making it particularly well-suited to
those with mobility difficulties.
The room has a vaulted ceiling with exposed beams, and a dual aspect with views
of the rear garden and front courtyard.
Electrically-adjustable twin beds (and 2
full size bunk beds in a small ante-room with access to an additional wc and
washbasin) provide flexible sleeping accommodation for up to four people. There
is a modern, fully-equipped ensuite disabled-friendly shower room.".
Breakfast:- We provide a plentiful continental breakfast every morning. However, for those of you with wheat allergies (or Atkins/Low GI fans) or who prefer a cooked breakfast, we usually offer this (when booked in advance) at a small supplemental cost.
Breakfast may be served on the patio, in the dining room or the veranda. Breakfast may be taken between 7.30am and 9.00am - please advise us the night before as to your preferred time, to enable us to have things ready for you.
Themed Weekends

and
seminars,
we offer our guests the opportunity to choose a
weekend

entertainment
and/or
activities,
in addition to the usual
warm welcome,
comfort
and various
amenities
to be found at
LE CHAT
CHOCOLAT.
You may wish to mark a
special occasion
with a
romantic weekend,
explore a new interest, meet people with similar interests in your own age
group, or pick a weekend that is likely to be fun and lively, even if the
weather is unreliable.
For
those who like to be spontaneous, why not book for one of our scheduled themed
weekends and join in (or not) with those activities that appeal, as and when you
feel like it? Or perhaps you may prefer a C-I-Y (Choose-It-Yourself) weekend,
arranging to visit with a group of friends, to share the pre-arranged and
tailor-made programme of your choice.
For those of you in business, who would like to reward loyal employees who have
worked above and beyond the call of duty, why not talk to us about an

weekend
for your top performers?
