Labastide de Virac is 8 kilometers from both Barjac and Vallon Pont d’Arc (Ardèche).
Le Couradou is a XVth century mas situated in the Bas-Vivarais, amidst the vineyards, close to the natural site of the Ardèche gorges.
It was once a silkworm farm, but over the years has been restored and transformed into a beautiful and comfortable home, yet still keeping its authentic character.
Le Couradou is an ideal base from where to discover the Ardèche, the Provence and the Cévennes.
Diana is British-Belgian and had always dreamt of running her own guest house. Jos is Belgian and a geographer by profession. Together they spent many vacations in the Ardèche and therefore know the area extremely well. They immediately fell in love with the house and its unique location, and could not resist the natural beauty and tranquillity of this area, which made giving up their jobs and life in Belgium an easy choice.
Le Couradou is not a hotel, it is our private home. We treat our guests as friends and want to make them feel "at home" comfortable and at ease. We cannot offer you the same services and atmosphere as in a hotel, but we assure you we will do all we can to make your stay enjoyable and memorable. In return, we rely on you to respect our home and our other guests.
Our family would not be complete without out dog, Toby. He too will give you a friendly welcome.
You are free to use the swimming pool , terrace, garden and living room with television, not to forget the “honesty bar” with refreshments.
A generous breakfast buffet is served on the terrace or in the grand dining room and consists of all fresh products, homemade jams and other delights.
Upon request, picnic lunches can be prepared for you.

Olives is on
the first floor this room has a double bed and a door leading onto a terrace
with panoramic view across the Vivarais. This room is the largest and most
romantic with steps leading to a large bath
.
Chambre Lavande
Lavande is on the first floor and has a double bed and a door leading onto a terrace with panoramic view across the Vivarais. This room can also accommodate a third person.
Chambre Aux Roses
“Aux Roses” is on the first floor and has two single 18th century Spanish beds. The adjoining bathroom is with a shower. A door allows direct access to the garden.
Chambre Coquelicot
“Coquelicot” is on the second floor and has four single beds and is large enough for a family of four. From the window there is a view across the garrigue and the village in the distance.
Chambre Myrtille
“Myrtille” is on the second floor and has twin beds. From the window is a view across the garrigue and the village in the distance.
Chambre Tournesol
“Tournesol” is on the first floor and has a double bed and a door leading onto a terrace with panoramic view across the Vivarais.

Le Couradou is an ideal base from where to discover the Ardèche, the Provence
and the Cévennes.
The Gorges of the Ardèche: the 300 meter deep canyon is within walking distance.
The scenic "Route des Gorges" is 50 kilometers long with the most remarkable views.

Since we do NOT offer an evening meal, we are delighted to inform you about the enormous variety of restaurants in Labastide and the surrounding villages where you can discover the excellent Ardeche cuisine. We will be happy to help you make a choice and reserve a table for you.
