Le Relais du Val d'Orbieu is a delightful Hotel in the Languedoc

     

There exists already a little paradise on earth in the Corbieres, not far away from Narbonne and from the Mediterranean Sea, where you will be welcomed by Agnes and Jean-Pierre Gonzalvez.

The hotel is placed in the middle of the wine yards, no better reason to make it also as a trip to some of the local wine cellars nearby.

Herve Montoyo, one of the best cooks in this region, who left his signs already often in the art of kitchen, is the chief of this kitchen here, to send you in seventh heaven with his menus. He respects all the good things for delicious cooking which is:- fresh grown vegetables, sweet-smelling herbs, oil from the best olives, fish from the catalane coast. All products are naturally, simple and good from societies of the region.

Agnes and Jean-Pierre Gonzalvez are giving all there energy in this little hotel and they have made it into a very comfortable place.

Accommodation

Double rooms, some apartments all with bathroom and separate toilet. All rooms have colour TV with satellite, direct telephone line, Minibar.

There is a beautiful garden of 2 hectares with a swimming pool in the middle of the rose garden, some apartments, a tennis court, a kitchen garden, and a nice park with laurels of rosemary and thyme.

A continental breakfast served from 8.00 a.m. to 10.00 a.m. in your room, in the restaurant or on the terrace. Dinner is from 19.30pm to 21.00pm.

Restaurant/Bar

If you eat in the restaurant, you will realise the fruits of  Herve Montoyo inspiration and excellent taste of the Mediterranean kitchen. Raviolis from paprika and anchovies sauce, little stuffed squids with green asparagus, sardines from Collioure, filet of Red-mullet with roasted artichokes, rabbit, lamb with thyme and aubergines. Sorbets with the taste of the Languedoc, all a real pleasure and made every day in the same quality.

Briefly, it is the paradise. You can wait under the shadow of the plane trees with an aperitif, until the chief of the kitchen personally has arranged your menu. Then it is served from Jean-Pierre Gonzalvez on the terrace or in the restaurant with a delicious wine from Languedoc, Corbieres or Minervois. Those are only some of the possibilities under the big choice of the own cellar of the hotel, fixed all on a splendour wine card, made by the specialist of the house.
