Breakfast/Dinner
Generous continental breakfasts, featuring homemade preserves and including seasonal fresh fruit, are served in our oak-beamed salon in a convivial family atmosphere.
Every evening at Le Jaonnet you can enjoy a dinner party with Elizabeth and Konrad, your English and Austrian hosts, together with other guests. You may savour their excellent food and good wine in pleasantly stimulating company. We use fresh produce from our organic garden and the local markets. Dinner is served traditionally “en famille” around the one table where you can get to know the other guests and exchange views on the day’s experiences over a glass or two of our very pleasant house wine.
In the warm summer evenings, dinner is served in the courtyard watching the sun go down and the stars come out. We pride ourselves on our excellent dinners lovingly and expertly prepared by Konrad who trained as a professional chef in his native Austria.
Our menus are well balanced, delicious and plentiful. We consider it a pleasure to introduce you to some of the famous local dishes, as well as some of our popular house specialities such as Chestnut Soup, or our irresistible Walnut Wine Sabayon. We can help with any particular dietary requirement you may have.
Garden
Loungers and deckchairs are provided in the garden for those who like to relax after a day out. Trays of tea or other drinks are available on request. There is a conservatory for those occasional rainy days. We have numerous books and magazines to browse through at your leisure. On cool days the log fire in the large fireplace with its medieval carvings is an added attraction to spend some time in the salon, reading or just relaxing.
Perigourdine Gourmet Breaks
Our Perigourdine Gourmet Breaks are designed to appeal to lovers of good food and wine of which there is plenty in this beautiful corner of France the Périgord Noir. We have arranged visits to places of culinary interest including a goose farm, goats cheese producers, a vineyard in the Cahors region and others, with tastings. There will be ample opportunities to buy some of the produce.
Around the area
There are many attractions in the area, such as the Chateaux, Prehistoric Caves, bastide towns, and the Dordogne river.
For those wishing a different way to relax there is a good 9 hole golf course
about 8km away.
