Chambres d’hôtes / Bed & Breakfast near Bordeaux

Château Coulon Laurensac bed and breakfast rooms are situated next to the château in the former 'chai à barriques', where the wine used to age in oak casks.

Set in a park of 5ha (12 acres) of enclosed and landscaped grounds with century old trees and a lovely rose garden, it offers peace and tranquillity close to romantic Bordeaux.

Taylor made trips
For people travelling individually or for (small) groups we can organise tailor made trips to the vineyards of your choice in the Bordeaux region. Please contact us for the possibilities.

The southwest of France is famous for its cuisine. You can enjoy fresh seafood and huitres on the local markets. Duck specialties like foie gras and confit de canard taste here like they should.

There is an excellent choice of restaurants within a 5 to 10 minute drive, ranging from a simple bistro to Michelin starred restaurants. The owners are always pleased to recommend a restaurant to suit you and to make the reservation for you.

And then there is the wine. Whether you like red wine, white wine or rosé, grand cru wines or affordable wines made by a small producer: Bordeaux caters for all tastes and budgets. The owners of Chateau Coulon Laurensac are great wine amateurs themselves and nothing would give them more pleasure then to recommend you a wine château for visiting, tasting and maybe buying. They'll even help you make the reservations if necessary.

Bordeaux:- As the world's capital of wine, Bordeaux is famous for its French lifestyle. This historical city also features some of Europe 's most charming and impressive examples of 18th century architecture. Some of the city's monuments have been listed as World heritage Sites by UNESCO. At the present the mayor of Bordeaux has initiated a number of ambitious publics' works projects worthy of a major European city. The redevelopment of the quays is the most striking example. Cruise ships often come to weigh their anchor along the Bordeaux waterfront, one of the most beautiful waterfronts in Europe . The quays are bordered by the Place des Quinconces, the largest square in Europe . Many museums and monuments are more than happy to welcome you!

For evening entertainment you'll be sure to find a performance of music or theatre up to your taste.

Bordeaux Events:-   Salon des Antiquaires (antiques fair), Fête du vin (wine festival), Festival d'été (summer festival), Festival International d'Orgue (organ music),  Fête du vin nouveau et du brocante (new wine and nearly antiques), Festival international du Cinéma au Féminin (women in cinema), and Novart (multi-arts).

The daytrips we described earlier are all very interesting for children as well. Especially if you include to your visit to Bordeaux a picnic in the Jardin Public or a boat trip on the Garonne River .

And let's not forget to mention some theme parks: Kidsparc, Aqua city and the zoo.

And last but not least: Bordeaux offers some of the finest shopping. All of the French luxury brands are available and you'll be sure to go home with your own ‘coup de coeur'.

Directions:-  Coming from Paris, follow the A 10 motorway to Bordeaux. At Bordeaux take the motorway (Rocade). Take exit (sortie) 22 Latresne. At first traffic light turn right (signposted: le Bord de l' Eau). After about 300 meters you will reach the Garonne river. Here you turn left (Latresne).
