"La Maison Blanche" is a 200 year old Charentaise house Open all year round, in the tiny hamlet of Chassenay, which has five houses & a duck pond.
You will enjoy a warm welcome from Christine & Alex, who will be happy to share their accumulated information of the region, whether you are house hunting or just taking a relaxing break, away from it all.
We are situated in the top right corner of the Charente surrounded by rolling countryside, Nine kms. north of the Medieval town of Confolens, along the river Vienne.
The house has been tastefully renovated to provide modern comforts with ancient surroundings.
We are a No Smoking establishment & have No Facilities for Pets.
Fluent English spoken and also "workable" French and some
German.
Accommodation
Our Farmhouse style kitchen:- has a wood burning stove, for those cooler winter days.
Lounge/Dining room:- where guests can take their evening meals, "En Famille", the lounge also has satelite TV & CD player.
Please note:- We offer guests a four course Evening Meal, using local produce at 16 Euros per person.
Upstairs:- we have a quiet Guest Lounge, where guests can relax & read our selection of books & magazines.
Garden:- Our quiet garden has an outdoor eating area where you may take breakfast on sunny mornings or dinners in the warm evenings. We also have a Barbeque area and plenty of space to relax, on loungers or the hammock, in the shade or in the warm sun.

Green Room:- One Double bed, ample wardrobe & storage space. En-suite Shower, Wash Basin & Toilet. Heating in bedroom & in Shower Room. Overlooks duck pond & Garden.
Magnolia Room:- One Double bed, ample wardrobe & storage space. En-Suite Shower, Wash Basin & Toilet. Heating in bedroom & Shower room. Overlooks duck pond & Garden.
A cot or mini bed can be added to your room if required.

Local Attractions include:- La Vallée des Singes (Monkey Park) Futuroscope, Boating, Fishing & Swimming in the local Lakes & Rivers. Roman Baths at Chassenon. Val de Vienne, Race Circuit and various Chateaux's in the region.
How to get there
From Poitiers :- take the N 10 south to the exit for Vivonne, through Vivonne to the D742 to Gencay; take the D741 towards Confolens.
At Pressac, take the D148 [still signposted to Confolens] this road then changes to the D948. On approach to Confolens, go under the D951, take the first left, onto the D951, singposted Bellac. Continue on the D951 to the exit for LESSAC.
Go through the village of LESSAC, round a funny little chicane, continuing on the D71, towards Availles Limouzine, the road drops down over a little bridge, then climbs up, stick to the left (main Road) after the road levels out you will see a X roads sign, turn right at this X roads.
We are 300 m. down the lane in front of you.
From Limoges Airport:- Take the N141 towards Angouleme. At Etagnac turn right onto the D948 towards Confolens. Go through Confolens, keep to the right round the one way system, then past the Tourist Office, on your left, towards Bellac, along the side of the river Vienne, to St. Germain de Confolens.
Turn LEFT over the bridge in St. Germain into St. Radagonde, follow the road to LESSAC. Continue through the village of LESSAC .round a funny little chicane onto the D71 towards Availles Limouzine, the road drops down over a little bridge, then climbs up, keep to the left (main road). After that the road climbs up, after it flattens out you will see a X roads sign, turn right here, we are 300 m. down the lane straight in front of you.
