Monique & Michael welcome their guests from Easter to September.  All the guest rooms are qualified "3 épis" by the Gîtes de France (new  classification in the 2008 Guide).

La Musardière  is situated in the green countryside of the French Limousin region. We are only 18 kilometers from Limoges-Bellegarde Airport. There are low cost airlines flying to Limoges (Ryanair, FlyBe).

La Musardière dominates the valley of the river Vienne between the city of Limoges and the town of Saint-Junien.

The city of Limoges, administrative capital of the Limousin region, dates back from the Gallo-Roman period and is famous for its porcelain and enamel factories.

Accommodation

A converted barn featuring a large stone fireplace and a mezzanine, La Musardière has five guest rooms with en-suite shower rooms. The guest rooms have been extensively remodelled for 2007.  

We have Two rooms with double beds. One family suite consisting of a room with a double bed and a room with twin beds. One room with twin beds.

A single bed or a cot can be added to each room. All rooms are furnished and decorated to a good standard.

Each room is named after a regional river.

Glane - Sleeps 1/3 persons

The room has a Double bed and en-suite shower room.

Aurence-Vienne - Sleeps 1/2 adults + 2/3 children

This Family room has two en-suite shower rooms consisting of a room with a double bed and a room with twin beds.

Gartempe - Sleeps 1/3 persons

This room has Twin beds and en-suite shower room.

It sleeps 1/3 persons.

Breakfast

Full continental breakfast is included.

An evening meal can be provided if ordered in advance (24 hours please).

Dinner 17 € per person, wine included. Half price for children under 12.

You may prefer to dine in one of the many restaurants in St Junien, or you may bring your own picnic to enjoy on the terrace

Around the area

Nearby historical sites such as the Castle of Rochechouart, the Second World War martyred village of Oradour-sur-Glane and the historic route of Richard Coeur de Lion are well worth a visit.

The region is most renowed for it's excellent beef and it's clafoutis dish, a creamy flan in pastry dotted with succulent red cherries. From the bordering Perigord region Foie gras and Confits are part of the traditional cuisine.

The A20 motorway puts Limoges in close contact with Paris in the north and Toulouse in the south.

Activities in the area

For outdoor fun in the area you can enjoy fishing, canoeing, kayaking, cycling or horseback riding. You can also go swimming, sailing and wind-surfing at the region's leading water sports centre.

Directions

From St Junien take the D32 towards St Brice and St Victurnien. La Musardière is found two kilometers after the St Brice exit sign, on the left hand side.

Prices include continental breakfast.

A deposit of 20% is requested at time of booking, payable by cheque or Postal Order in Pounds Sterling (made to Michael Oldroyd). The balance is payable on departure in Euros or Pounds cash or cheque sterling .

Pets are not allowed.
