All year long, Pierre and Martine Clément welcome you in this magnificent "logis charentais " built in the 15th and 18th century and restored keeping it in character.

A fine 16th & 18th Century  Château  in a wonderful location in the Charente valley, 7 km from Saintes between Royan and Cognac,  only 30 km to the Atlantic coast beaches.

Recently refurbished to a high standard with style and comfort within 30 acres of private parkland.

Bed  and Breakfast : 5 luxury bedrooms and 1 Apartment.

Bed and Breakfast in the Château:-

62€- 98€  per night /2 people .   Extra bed 20 €  Breakfast 9 €   Specials rates : week-end , mini week.  Look at our  web site.

The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable with ensuite bathroom,  King size beds 160/200 or Twin beds 90/200. Toilettes. Some of the rooms have extra beds, sofas and fire place.

Blankets or Duvet, direct dial, Tel, TV Sat (5 foreign channels), Internet plugging,  Hairdryer and Central Heating.

Tower house : 1 bed room (twin, extra bed and ensuite bathroom)  and 1 apartment (king size bed and twin bed) , ensuite bathroom.

This building has a more rustic style with it’s stairway tower of the 15th century.

The façades have been rearranged at the time of the 18th century enlargement, in order to maintain the classical style of the main house overlooking onto the park and the dove cot.  65-84 Euros /per night/ two people.

The main house :  3 rooms  with king size beds and ensuite bathroom . a couple have extra bed .

Bedrooms are located on the first floor, overlooking the park and the small valley. Access to the gardens, the lounges and the orangery are via the terraces. 

Enjoy your continental breakfast in the Chateau’s orangery. :  croissants, fresh orange juice, home-made jams and compotes, fresh fruit from the garden, yoghurt, and cereals.

We have public lounges where you can relax around the fireplace, drinking your favourite tea, free of charge.

GITES IN THE DOMAIN

Le Viver :-     Bright and spacious cosy detached summer house.

Living:- Sunny with patio doors, kitchen, lounge, fireplace, sofas.

First Floor:-    Bedroom with 3 single beds 90/200cm. Bathroom and toilettes. Sheets provided.

A lovely private lawn with garden lounge (not enclosed).

Price per week 270 Euros - 530 Euros.

Le Petit Logis:-   In a very local style.

A studio Gite in a lovely "charentaise" style outbuilding 20 metres from the main house. Convenient for semi-handicapped people. Opens out onto the lawn.

Fireplace, King size bed, Sheets provided. kitchen fully equipped, shower, wc.

Price per week  240 Euros - 380 Euros per week.

French, English & Spanish spoken.

Boating, Swimming, Fishing, Aquatic sports on the River Charente and Atlantic beaches

Golfing at Saintes , Royan, Cognac.

Places to Visit

Saintes: Roman and Romanic city ; Cognac : distilleries/spirits stores and vineyards ; Rochefort : the Hermione frigate and Pierre Loti's house. Château de La Roche Courbon etc.

Atlantic beaches,  Fort Boyard, the oyster of Marennes, the islands,  Ré, Oléron, Aix. Royan.

Roman architecture is to be seen everywhere ! Gallo - Roman vestige ; archaeology and prehistoric era.

Restaurants

There are many charming restaurants located around for lunch and dinner. You will find 5 of them at less than 2 kms.

Directions to Saintes

Very easy: A10 motorway to 100 km in the north of Bordeaux Left 35 then 7 km in the countryside. By train: TGV Paris La Rochelle or Paris/Bordeaux, change at Angouleme and then taxi in Saintes station .  Airports Bordeaux , La Rochelle, Poitiers are one hour far from Saintes.

You can leave your luggage at any time.
