La Tringale is set in 2.5 acres, and is surrounded by beautiful countryside, and offers peace and tranquility with easy access to / from the major ferry ports of Cherbourg and Caen (approx. 45 mins) and Carpiquet (Caen) airport. Also easily accessible, approx. 30 mins. drive, are the beautiful sandy and spacious Normandy beaches, WW.II museums and military cemeteries / memorials.

All accommodations have their own patios with full furniture. New, for the 2005 season, are the landscaped gardens which also include picnic  barbecue areas and a children's play area as well as a large lawn for ball-games (equipment supplied) or just relaxation. The large car park ensures safety and security for all and a laundry room complete with washing-machine and iron is a complimentary facility for our guests

The main farmhouse offers 3 spacious and very comfortable bedrooms and a shower-room in the new loft-conversion for the sole use of our Bed & Breakfast guests.

There are two double rooms and a twin room, all featuring the original oak beams.

All bed-linen and towels are provided, and the cost includes a continental breakfast.

Additionally a 4-course evening meal can be provided, by prior arrangement.

Self Catering

We also have a Gite sleeping 6 persons and a cottage sleeping 8 persons available for those who like self catering.

The village of St Clair sur Elle is close by and offers bar/restaurant (pizza night on Tuesdays!), butcher, supermarket, baker, garage, post office, doctor’s surgery, chemist, bank, 2 hairdressers and a small market on Tuesdays.

 

Places to visit

St.Lo, situated approx. 18k south-west of La Tringale, is the nearest main town with good shopping, leisure facilities and restaurants and a Saturday morning market. For Horse lovers it is also the most important of the 23 national studs and specializes in breeds such as Norman cobs, Trotters and French saddle horses – stables and courtyards open to visitors June – Sept. The picturesque town of Bayeux was one of the first liberated from enemy occupation on 7th June 1944 and is the home of the famous 11th century Tapestry depicting William the Conqueror’s invasion of England and the Battle of Hastings in 1066; it is only 20 minutes drive.

Within easy reach of La Tringale you have access to trout and carp fishing lakes, golf courses, walking / rambling countryside and forests, interesting historic towns and cities, excellent French food and wine.

Evening Meal
An optional 4 course evening meal can be provided on request. Costs for this are £14; £10 for children 13 and under'. There is a small choice of wines and soft drinks for purchase with an evening meal.
