Walking
Our lake nestles in an acre and a half of flora and fauna. This rustic wilderness lends itself as the home to an abundance of wildlife, including mallard ducks, moorhens, canadian geese and even the occasional heron fishing on the lakes for fry.
Over the years we have introduced carp, perch, bream, brown and rainbow trout into the water.
Horse Riding
We also offer equine Bed and Breakfast. But if you wish to go riding, we can arrange this with our local stables who are happy to instruct beginners or for the more experienced - a cross country hack.
Cycling
Our mountain bikes are the perfect answer to see the countryside around the Vale of the Red Horse.
We can supply you with a map and route which
will take you off the main roads and into the leafy lanes of deepest
Warwickshire.
Ride along Edgehill escarpment and visit, Honnington Hall, Farnborough Hall,
Broughton Castle and Heritage Motor Museum.
Of course there will always be a Pub around the corner for well earned
refreshments.
Clay Pigeon Shooting
A good eye, steady hand and a minute or two of tuition is all one needs to be a perfect shot when clay pigeon shooting.
Relaxing on the Farm
However, it is not all leisure on the farm. Hay making in June is an important part of our business. Wrapped and conventional hay is supplied to the local equine industry.
Other crops harvested are: wheat, beans and
oilseed rape. Our farming policy is on the change, with a strong emphasis on
conservation and wildlife being our theme for the new millennium.
This farm is one of the most important breeding sites in Warwickshire for
curlew. Furthermore it has retained breeding populations of grey partridge, corn
bunting, tree sparrow and brown hare. Recently, in a field in front of the
farmhouse, we have discovered remains of an ancient Roman Villa dating back to
the 3rd/4th centuries A.D
