The Albany Hotel   We are located in a beautiful part of the country and ideally situated for utilizing the picturesque towns and villages of Suffolk inland, and the Heritage Coastline to the south. The delights of the Norfolk Broads just a few miles to the north, we believe that this area once visited will draw you back time and time again.

Lowestoft, Britain's most easterly location and also known as the "Sunrise Coast" is where the Broadland meets the sea. Historically Lowestoft has been an important fishing port with an attractive fishing quarter,  which still retains its strong maritime flavour. Site of the first recorded lighthouse in England, the town is also home of the famous Lowestoft Porcelain - now making a comeback - and birthplace of the renowned composer Benjamin Britten. Lowestoft naturally has all the entertainments traditionally associated with an English seaside resort including a restored Edwardian theatre where a programme of live performances can be seen.

Situated to the south of Lowestoft on the A12, The Albany is well placed for a short trip into town, Kensington Gardens with it's bowling greens, tennis courts and boating lake, the award winning beach - which is just three minutes walking distance, or visits to the outstanding surrounding countryside and heritage coastline.

The present owner Geoff Ward has made strenuous efforts that you - todays discerning holiday maker - will find everything you would expect of a small private hotel, including personal service with attention to detail, quite often found lacking in larger establishments.

Formerly a fine turn-of-the-century terraced town house, 'The Small Hotel with the Big Welcome' has eight rooms, six of which are en-suite. All the well appointed rooms have new double glazed windows, and have recently undergone sympathetic and co-ordinated redecoration. Each room is well equipped with beverage tray, hairdryer, alarm clock/radio, and T.V. with in-house video channel and in  addition to the list of amenities on offer, is the completion of a "luxury" double en-suite room. For the extra price above our standard tariff you will enjoy comfort and quality and attention to detail normally expected of a four or five star hotel including if desired, chilled Champagne on arrival, breakfast in bed to name but two; in fact anything that will make an Anniversary or special occasion that little bit more special and memorable, or if you just feel the need to be pampered for a weekend.
