The Glenalmond is a privately owned family run guest house situated on the south side of Edinburgh  just five minutes away from the City Centre. With ample private parking and an excellent bus and taxi service right to the front door this makes the ideal base from which to explore Edinburgh.

We believe in the personal touch and strive to make all our guest's as welcome as possible.

Accommodation

You will find we have a very spacious Victorian home which is well reflected in the 10 bedrooms

We have ten rooms:-  

 Three double rooms, two family rooms on the ground floor.

 The second floor consists of, one single, one double and three family rooms.

 Some of the rooms have four poster beds, which adds a touch of elegance and goes very well with the ducal furnishing.

All rooms are decorated to a very high standard and all bedding is changed daily.

Every room is spacious with en-suite bathroom, colour TV, tea and coffee tray.

 A typical family room has the same high standard decor and have a decorative pavilion bed canopy.

The house is fully central heated with full access for the disabled on the ground floor.

Dining Room

The dining area is finished to a very high standard of cleanliness and decor. It has a large frontal view of the busy world outside and is carpeted in the traditional Fraser tartan pattern.

Here you can sit down in a warm friendly environment to a full Scottish breakfast with a nice bowl of porridge oats and some home baked scones (always a good start to a long day out and about).
 

Places to Visit

Local places to visit include Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace, Festival Theatre, The Royal Mile, Dynamic Earth, the Royal Yacht Britannia, Edinburgh University. Or you could travel a little bit further away and visit the famous golf courses of St Andrews or see the Forth Rail Bridge an engineering marvel what ever you look for in a holiday Edinburgh is sure to provide it.
