Foxbank
is run by Ronnie and Lawther Murchison. We are situated on the promenade at
Hunter's Quay, close to the ferry terminal, and approximately 2 miles from Dunoon
pier.

The Front rooms have wonderful views of the river Clyde.
Foxbank is an ideal base for walking or exploring the Cowal Peninsula.
Accommodation
The Accommodation comprises of:-

Bedrooms
One single room, two twin rooms, one family room. Three of the rooms are ensuite, and one of the rooms has private facilities.
All rooms are decorated and furnished to a good standard, and have tea making facilities, TVs, radios and hairdryers.
Lounge


The Guest Lounge and front rooms are comfortably furnished and have magnificent views of the River Clyde
Facilities
Cots can be pre-booked at a modest extra charge.
Lawther provides home baking in the evening, eg Scottish shortbread or ginger cake, and Ronnie prepares fresh home made breads which are served every morning along with a full Scottish or Continental breakfast.
Vegetarian guests are catered for and other dietary requirements can be pre-booked.

We offer ample free parking in the grounds.

Dunoon is a typical west coast town with varied eating out places, from upmarket cuisine to good pub grub.
Dunoon's Castle House Museum is fascinating to visitors and locals alike situated behind the famous Highland Mary statue, the famous amour of Robert burns.
August sees the wonder annual event of the Cowal Highland Gathering, now world renowned. Bands, dancers, athletes, all compete over the three day event, although it is now considered by 'locals' that the Thursday KIRN village GALA is a good way to 'get in the mood'.
Dunoon has many sports amenities, varied hill walking routes attract a great
many hill walkers, sea sports are a favourite, and the views of the sailing
season from the front rooms are second to none. Now that Greenock had developed
into a liner centre there are also the large luxury liners to watch.... and
dream.
The Holy Loch Marina offers all
the sailing and yachting facilities you would expect to find in a marina, and is
situated amongst beautiful scenery in a relaxing, established holiday area.

Golfers will be tempted by the discount packages available to most golf courses
in the area. If you book with sufficient time to spare we can arrange a ferry
discount travel ticket for your journey. This is a substantial saving. Ask us

Fishing both fresh and sea, are a popular attraction, 'Quadmania' is within 5
miles of the town and proves popular with guests with young family.
Horse riding can be arranged at the Innellan Velvet Path.
Bowlers are catered for as we boast 5 excellent bowling clubs and you are made
welcome at all.
Transport Links
By Bus:- From Glasgow: bus from Buchanan Street Bus Station direct to McInroy's Point, ferry links to Hunter's Quay pier and taxi or pick up if previously arranged.
By Air:- From Glasgow Airport take the M8 to Greenock, then follow the signs to Gourock where you choose the Caledonian MacBrayne's Ferry to Dunoon, or travel another 3 miles to McInroy's Point to catch the ferry to Hunter's Quay.
By Rail:- From Glasgow Central Station then connect with Caledonian MacBrayne's ferry to Dunoon pier.
On Arrival:- From Dunoon Ferry Terminal turn right onto the promenade, travel 1.5
miles to reach the village of Kirn, Foxbank is on your left hand side of first
intersection AFTER the red sandstone church.
From Hunter's Quay ferry terminal, turn left and Foxbank is approximately 0.25 miles on right hand side
