A warm welcome awaits you at Margi Walker's Edwardian cottage.
We are
situated in a quiet, village setting in Chartham, less than four miles from
Canterbury, in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty.
Accommodation
All our rooms are attractively decorated, comfortably furnished with central heating. The rooms have TV and tea/coffee making facilities.
Rooms:- One double room with en-suite facilities;.
One twin-bedded room with private bathroom.
Two single rooms with shared bathroom.
Breakfast:- is served at a large table. Breakfast includes free range eggs, sausages from free range pigs, and a selection of home-made preserves.
At the end of the day there is a charming patio where you
can relax and unwind.
Parking:- Off-street parking for 4 cars.
No smoking within the house.
No pets.
Children are welcome.
Excellent home-cooked evening meals are served in the local
pub, five minutes' walk down Shalmsford Street.
Activities around the area
Walkers:- enjoy easy access to the North Downs Way and Pilgrim's Way, along the Stour Valley in Chartham.
Cyclists:- can take advantage of the National Cycle Network route which goes along Shalmsford Street.
Golfers:- can play on one of the many golf courses nearby, including the Royal St. George's, at Sandwich. Fishermen enjoy Coarse Fishing at the picturesque pools five minutes' walk from the cottage. Everyone can watch a variety of water fowl.
How to get here
From M20 (either direction) exit at junction 10 and follow the signs to Canterbury A28 for about 9 miles. Turn right into SHALMSFORD STREET, continue for 0.5 miles, past the Post Office on the left. ENSIGNE COTTAGE driveway is next to house no. 121, almost opposite the newsagents.
From Dover/A2 take the second Canterbury exit (marked Canterbury, Ashford) and follow the signs for Ashford A28 for about 3 miles. Turn left into SHALMSFORD STREET, and continue as for M20 directions above.
From London/M2 exit at Junction 7 and follow the signs to Canterbury A2. Follow the ring road around Canterbury and exit at the roundabout for Ashford A28. Continue for about 4 miles and turn left at SHALMSFORD STREET, and continue as for M20 directions above.
