Street Farmhouse Bed & Breakfast is an attractive 16th Century Farmhouse set on the edge of old Hampshire village.

The property has been sympathetically restored, with beamed ceilings, walls, large inglenook fireplace and other original features.

Street Farmhouse makes an ideal base to explore Southern England. Conveniently located for Winchester, Southampton, Portsmouth, the New Forest and London, 1 hour. M3 (junction 5), 4 miles.

About the area

The village of Hook is bounded on the east side by the picturesque valley of the River Whitewater, and to the south by two areas of common land - Hook Common and Bartley Heath. Bartley Heath is an area of wet heathland designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest. It is particularly remarkable for the presence of the rare Marsh Gentian. Bartley Heath and Hook Common are easily accessible from the village and are a great place to enjoy wildlife

Chawton village (home of Jane Austen) is only 6 miles away.

It was in Hampshire that Jane Austen found inspiration to write such classics as Pride & Prejudice, Emma, Mansfield Park and Sense & Sensibility.

She wrote her famous works drawing on a large circle of friends, social gatherings and places around Hampshire that she visited to devise the characters and settings for her novels. 

There is also a good selection of excellent pubs nearby.
