The Southernhay  Hotel is  situated in Westbourne, on the outskirts of Bournemouth town centre.  Across the road from our hotel a path leads down through the woods to the promenade and beach.  Westbourne shopping centre is only a few minutes walk from the hotel.  Here you can find a wide range of  shops, including a few designer clothes shops.

The beaches in Bournemouth stretch for miles.  The beach at Alum Chine is easily accessed from our hotel, by crossing the road and following the path through the 'Chines' (a wooded ravine) to the promenade.  At the bottom there is a children's play area with a splash pool which is open in the summer.  It takes approximately 20 minutes to walk along the promenade from Alum chine beach to the pier in Bournemouth Town Centre.

The Southernhay Hotel is ideally situated at the head of Alum Chine (A wooded Ravine) leading down to the sea and miles of safe, sandy beaches.

There is a varied range of good and reasonably priced restaurants in Westbourne shopping centre, only a 3 minute walk from the hotel. The Bournemouth International Centre, Cinemas, Theatres, Restaurants, Clubs and Pubs are all within easy reach; Minutes by car or the frequent bus service.

 For those wanting to go into Bournemouth Town Centre there are several buses from Westbourne.    

Accommodation

There are a variety of centrally heated basic and en-suite rooms, all having thermostatically controlled radiators.  All rooms have Tea/Coffee making facilities, colour TV's, hairdryers, radio alarm clocks and full length mirrors. 

We ask our guests not to smoke in the rooms, but we do have a comfortable patio at the front of the hotel.  
 

Breakfast is usually either 8am or 9am, but times are negotiable. We cater for vegetarians and children.

Small dogs are welcome by prior arrangement. 

Bournemouth:-  is a beautiful seaside town located on the south coast of Dorset in the United kingdom. The town is regarded as one of England's premier sea side resorts with its long safe, sandy and clean beaches ideal for everyone from small children to grand parents and all those in between.

Boscombe:-  is situated between bustling Bournemouth and the historic priory town of Christchurch with its excellent bus links to both. Boscombe itself has a large range of shops, parks and gardens and even has its own pier and sea front promenade. A brief stroll along which will take you right into the centre of Bournemouth.

The variety of local restaurants. include Italian, Indian, Greek, as well as an extremely popular fish and chip restaurant and take-way.   There are also several cafe's in Westbourne, three pubs and a wine bar, which have a good selection of reasonably priced meals.

En-Suite Accommodation with Shower and W.C. (Two People Sharing)

Check-in time on arrival is anytime after 1pm, and guests are asked to vacate rooms by 10am on their day of departure. 

Please note payment is by cash or cheque. Prices are per person for B&B and include VAT

Children sharing room with parents: One child under 5 years - Free. 2nd child or children aged between 5 and 12 years - from £10 per night (low season).

Standard Room: We have a single room, but not en-suite. B&B is from £18 per night.

Family Rooms: We have two family rooms. Prices are available on request.

Additional supplement payable for a single person in a double room.
