HOTEL AND SIX SELF-CATERING COTTAGES - OPEN ALL YEAR ROUND

Sid Valley Country House Hotel is our privately-owned business, to which we bring over 20 years experience.

Set in seven acres the Sid Valley Country House Hotel, originally 17th Century, is one of those special places that is rarely found. There is no better way to discover Devon, inland and coast, than at the Sid Valley, which provides a relaxed atmosphere with professional service and luxurious surroundings, spacious and comfortably furnished lounges, attentiveness, efficiency and hospitality and staff to aid relaxation and provide a peaceful retreat.

The hotel is situated on the outskirts of the delightful Saxon village of Sidbury, halfway between Sidmouth and Honiton, off the A375. The Hotel ¼ mile sign is at the end of the lane. The Hotel includes a private residential car park.

Complete relaxation... Depending on the weather, you can simply lie back and relax by the heated outdoor pool or put your feet up by or roaring log fire, while we tempt you with Devon cream teas, drinks and culinary delights.

The East Devon Coast has recently been awarded World Heritage status. We are well placed for many National Trust properties, the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan.

Luxurious en-suite

The double, twin or family room, all are light, airy and luxuriously furnished, with en suite facilities, and commanding country views, some with south facing balconies affording views over the Sid Valley and beyond. Every bedroom offers individual design and luxurious decor. All have private bathroom, colour television, trouser press, tea and coffee facilities, radio alarm, direct dial telephone and hair dryer.
For those of you holidaying with children we also offer a child listening service, on request.

Relax and enjoy a drink and good company in the bar or one of our residential lounges, where we offer unobtrusive service. Flowers adorn all the rooms, their scent in competition with the tang of wood smoke from the log fires.

All our food home made and prepared daily from fresh produce - with our own home baked bread. A wide and varied menu is always available in our restaurant.

The well stocked wine cellar offers European and New World wines, and perhaps afterwards a liquor to round off the evening.

We look forward very much to welcoming you - from the moment you arrive you'll know you have made the right choice.

Mealtimes are flexible, and if you need a picnic lunch, or anyone fancies a bed time brandy or Horlicks, it's yours for the asking! In other words, we offer a very personal service at all times.

On balmy summer evenings, why not take your meal on the sun terrace - the choice is yours.

Champagne Breakfast?

For honeymooners, wedding anniversaries or any other special occasion. A champagne breakfast on the sun balcony will always be remembered.
And, as a lasting happy memory, take home one of our imaginative floral arrangements, made by  Chelsea Flower Show Award Winner Sarah!

Places to Visit

There are many National Trust properties in the area. Within easy driving distance are the Roman city of Exeter, the Regency seaside town of Sidmouth, Exmouth's 2 mile long golden beach, the famous Cobb at Lyme Regis (featured in 'The French Lieutenant's Woman'), plus all the rural beauty of the Axe and Otter Valleys. Dartmoor or Exmoor make perfect day trips, and there is always the picturesque South Devon and Dorset coastline nearby.

Activities

As well as the many local walks, in addition there is cycling, fishing and horse riding with our own pony or at nearby stables. And for golfers, there are a number of superb courses close by with reduced green fees for hotel guests at Sidmouth Golf Club.
