The Royal Castle Hotel preserves the spirit of traditional inn keeping, a warm welcome to everyone combined with the atmosphere of an historic coaching inn from a bygone age, yet offers it's guests accommodation, cuisine, and service to only the very highest standards.
.The hotel has been recommended by the AA since appointments began in 1909.
Dartmouth lies in the South Hams of Devon - a rich agricultural region enjoying the mildest climate in mainland Britain. Here the River Dart becomes deep and wide, creating a busy harbour bustling with craft of every description, from yachts and dinghies to pleasure boats and fishing vessels. Against this colourful backdrop you'll discover the Royal Castle Hotel.
Bedrooms

All 25 bedrooms have their own unique character and have been created with your comfort in mind. Individually decorated and furnished with fine antiques and delightful views of the river and quay.
Several of the rooms feature four-poster or brass beds along with luxury spa baths.
All rooms have en-suite bathroom or shower room, central heating, direct dial telephone, hairdryer, tea/coffee making facilities and colour satellite television.
Restaurant
Our newly refurbished restaurant overlooking the river is the ideal location for a romantic dinner or a business lunch. We are famous for our Castle Breakfast. Our head chef chooses local beef, pork and lamb wherever possible raised in the South Hams. Seafood is often purchased directly from the fishing boats landing at the quayside
Bar
Stylish and fresh but with a great atmosphere. Light air conditioned bar, with a log fire!
Wide range of bar meals. During the winter months we serve delicious spit-roasts on our 300 year-old range.

Parking
We have private parking and offer a valet parking service (refundable deposit required).
Dogs are welcome by arrangement.
Functions
We can arrange any type of function to suit all budgets. We also have access to some excellent outside catering venues including boats on the river Dart
Behind the regency façade lie two original Tudor timber framed houses dating from 1630. The original courtyard between the houses now features a fine 18th century wooden staircase. Its galleried landing lead to the Adam Room Restaurant, Lounge and Library which are all situated on the first floor, with numerous lounging corners along the way. Antiques and memorabilia abound, often depicting Dartmouth's fascinating maritime heritage. Everywhere there are personal touches you will find only in a privately owned hotel
