The Cridford Inn is situated in the heart of the South Devon Countryside, near Dartmoor and within easy reach of Exeter the regional capital. 

This Inn is ideal for a stop over to the Eden Project or the Plymouth Cross Channel ferries.

It is reputedly one of the oldest inns in Britain and dates back to 825 AD.

Once it was originally a nunnery and then a farm, but it was remodelled in 1081. It is now an archetypal English country pub with a thatched roof, tiny windows, rough stonewalls, slate floors, with loads of atmosphere. The beamed bar has  a stained glass windows which is said to be the oldest domestic windows in Britain.

The inn was owned by the Cridford family from the Middle Ages until recent times. Now, it is run by Jasmine and Bill, who relocated from Malaysia and took over the pub in 1997.  

Accommodation

The accommodation is compact and cosy with plenty of country cottage décor and smart bathrooms. There is one twin room and three double rooms.

You can expect a wide choice here, perhaps red Thai vegetable curry, Malaysian beef rendang, duck in a Tuscan sweet and sour sauce, skate wing in black butter sauce or peppered Rib eye steak.
