A warm and traditional welcome awaits you at 'The Wellington' as we are affectionately known both locally and by our many guests that return time and time again.

Since the 16 th August last year when the hotel was badly damaged by the flood, a great many people, including the BBC “Changing Rooms” team, have been working very hard to restore the 'Wellington' to it's original condition or better!

We are pleased to say that progress has been so good that we now feel able to start taking bookings again. Whilst there is still some way to go, we hope to be able to open for business around the end of April.

If you would like to make a booking or have an enquiry, please use the details shown on our website to get in touch with us. If you tried earlier to contact us via e-mail and had no response, please accept our apologies. All our computers were lost in the flood and some of our accounts have been inaccessible until recently. We will try to contact anyone who e-mailed us with booking enquiries or you may wish to contact us again via the new e-mail address shown.

To everyone who sent messages of sympathy and support we send our heartfelt thanks and we look forward to seeing old friends and new very soon. Paul, Rosie, Scott and Susanne

The Wellington Hotel

Nestled at the end of a deeply wooded valley, where the rivers Jordan and Valency meet with 10 acres of private woodlands and National Trust Walkways it’s easy to enjoy your stay at The Wellington. The hotel offers modern facilities combined with comfort and care, discreet yet thoughtful and efficient service, always with a smile!

The Wellington Hotel is one of North Cornwall’s oldest Coaching Inn’s, dating back to the 16th Century. Originally known as “The Bos Castle Hotel” it was renamed after the death of the “Iron Duke” the Duke of Wellington in his memory and the Castilian tower still seen as the main feature on the exterior of the hotel, was added and the hotel renamed The Wellington Hotel.

The Wellington has been host to many prominent guests over the years with Guest Registration Books dating back to the 1850’s – names such as His Majesty King Edward VII, Sir Henry Irving, Guy Gibson, Thomas Hardy and many other Lords and Ladies.
