Four Diamond Quality (AA & VisitBritain)  Open from Spring to October

 Chy-an-Creet. Private Hotel.

Your hosts, Judith and David Tremelling, have been the resident proprietors of Chy-an-Creet since 1998.   Since then, we have been awarded the English Tourism Council Four Diamond quality award and the corresponding Four Diamond award from the AA (Automobile Association). Between us, we have over 30 years of experience in providing comfortable accommodation for independently-minded travellers.

Chy-an-Creet. Private Hotel. Nestling in its garden in this area of outstanding natural beauty, near to where the edge of town meets the enchanting Penwith Moors to the west, it is convenient for touring, walking, and sightseeing.

Chy-an-Creet (a non-smoking house) is open from Spring to October for holidays and short breaks.  Each of our eight centrally heated en-suite guest rooms has a complimentary beverage tray and colour television.  Our comfortable private bar (with a real fire for cooler weather) is stocked with a selection of soft drinks, spirits and ales.

Bedrooms

On the First Floor (Second Storey) we have four of our en-suite bedrooms, each with central heating and its own private shower, WC and colour television. Each has a refreshment tray, tissues, soap and fluffy towels. The beds are made ready for your arrival with 15-tog duvets and freshly laundered sheets. There are also 100% wool or Witney Cellular spare blankets hidden in the wardrobes, "just in case"!

Room 1:-  Family room which we can often also offer as a "twin" or double room, with a comfortable Double bed and a Single bed. This room really catches the morning sun and looks south across Chy-an-Creet's garden to the grounds of the famous Leach Pottery opposite. The shower room is the house's original Box Room with its original "Sky-light" still in place.

Room 2 :- Double bed room with a fascinating shower room cleverly fitted into the eaves. If we know you are over 6 feet tall, we would normally book you into a different room! Unfortunately, this room lost its little balcony several years ago, but it still catches early morning sun shining through St.Ives' crystal clear Atlantic air.

Room 3 :- Large family room with a double bed and two single beds. [Guests over 2.2 metres tall are occasionally upgraded to this room at no extra cost in Low Season!] This room has a glimpse of Godrevy Lighthouse across the Bay and looks out over the Garth an Creet community green, which bears no evidence that here in the 19th century was once part of the site of the local St.Ives Consols tin mine!

Room 5:-  Double room looking out over our little log store and the garden to the wooded grounds of the Leach Pottery and the remaining great conifers for which this part of town has been noted.

The remaining four en-suite bedrooms, also centrally heated, are on the ground floor..

Room 6 :- Is the most easily accessible twin bedded room. Its large shower was specified for a person with mobility difficulties and has been found satisfactory by several guests with limited mobility. Plenty of storage space adds to this room's convenience.

Room 7:-  Double room convenient for guests who prefer a ground floor room.

Room 8 :-Double room, quietly tucked away at the back of the house, with pine furniture and a comfortable Sealy double bed..

Room 9:-  Tucked away quietly at the back of the house is now a Single room (with a "single" bed). When used together with Room 8, these two rooms can sometimes also suit a family with an older child who prefers a measure of independence while being close by for supervision!

Please note:- We do try to allocate rooms according to our guests' preferences, but cannot guarantee you a particular room.Chy-an-Creet. Private Hotel. Lounge Area

The Lounge:- is to your right as you enter the front door. Originally the Morning Room, it benefits from a recent extension which gives a quiet, light area in which to write, watch terrestrial wide-screen television or read. Pooh Bear and friends make themselves comfortable here when you are not using the room. On the shelves, there are plenty of books to borrow while you're with us if you wish.

The Licensed Bar:- occupies the original Drawing Room. It has a variety of refreshments. The bar is open only to our guests and their friends, hence the "private" hotel status. The original fireplace has been brought back into use for a real fire on cooler evenings.

The Breakfast Room:-  next to the bar, in the extended west wing of the hotel, is where you'll probably start your day if you haven't already been for a stroll on the golden sandy beach in the early morning sun. Chy-an-Creet. Private Hotel. Breakfast AreaThe servery is spread with a range of cereals, fruit, fruit juices and natural yoghurt to start you off on the right foot, then your selection of cooked items, teas, caffetiere coffee and toast from the menu are served at individual tables between 0815 to 0915 daily.

If an early morning stroll or swim is not your preferred start, you can look forward to starting your day with your choice of freshly prepared breakfast, then come and go as you please.  If you are spending the day off the beaten track, we can prepare a packed lunch for you (usually with sandwiches, biscuits, fruit and a drink; please order yours in advance). For your evening meal, we recommend exploring the large number and variety of restaurants and eating houses in town (within walking distance) and around. We keep a list and can make reservations if you wish.
