Berthed in the Centre of Paris
This traditional cargo craft converted into a beautiful and luxurious dwelling of distinction. The glass-walled point de pilotage doubles as a sitting room, with stunning views across the water.
Docked along the quay of the Tournelle, where Boulevard St. Germain meets the Seine, La Vie en Rose offers a private suite of rooms on a luxury peniche just upstream from the Ile de la Cite and Notre Dame.
Equally convenient to the bustling Latin Quarter -- famous for its vibrant student life and quaint ethnic eateries, and the au courant Marais -- where a new designer boutique blossoms each day, La Vie en Rose enjoys a superb location for your stay in Paris, the world's most romantic city.
Accommodation
The bathroom, a confection of marble and mirror, is stocked with a generous supply of the finest soaps and bath products, and includes double sinks and a separate water closet.
A very private retiring chamber piled high with down comforters and pillows welcomes day's end as gentle sways lull visitors to sleep. Tasteful furnishings and fresh flowers await guests, as does a chilled bottle of exceptional champagne.
In warm weather, a roof patio with sweeping views up and down the Seine welcomes lazy contemplation.
Breakfast
Exceptional breakfasts either French-style or gourmet American. One morning might bring just-baked croissants, tarte aux fraises and quiche, while the next surprises with an omelette of wild mushrooms and goat cheese.
At any time throughout the day, guests may help themselves to an array of beverages including sodas, juices, spring waters, beer and wine, and a generous supply of ice made from bottled water!
After renewing their energies from a day of sightseeing and
shopping, guests can select from hundreds of restaurants within walking
distance, then end the day with a rare cognac or liqueur in their private
quarters. Like all the amenities aboard La Vie en Rose, these are complimentary
as are the robes, which may be taken as a remembrance.

The hosts, American journalists with more than 20 years of dining and travel, are ready to share Paris and help make a visit even more memorable.
Both hosted and unhosted stays are available.
Reservations can be made by email or phone, but please book as early as possible because something this special is inevitably sought-after.
Children under 16 not permitted.

FOR THE MOST ROMANTIC STAY IN PARIS $650 (US DOLLARS) PER DAY.
We are pleased to offer a 10% reduction for stays of five days or longer.
Rates are for single or double occupancy, include all taxes, gratuities,
amenities, and beverages. There is a three day minimum stay. Some holidays may
have a surcharge or be excluded from special offers.
And finally, when you book with us, you pay Americans with American dollars that
are spent in America. Nowadays, that's important, too.
For the last half of June and the month of July, plus various other periods of the year, * our boat is offered as a "self-catered vacation villa." That is to say that unlike during hosted stays, when guest have their own private suite with huge terrace and we are in residence in the remainder of the boat, providing hotel-like services, etc., during unhosted stays the guest will have all of the above and a portion of our quarters.
Enjoy a 20' living room, full kitchen, study, marble bath, seductive bedroom, all with great views, plus a private patio and huge sun drenched terrace. Very handsomely finished and furnished, with all the comforts of home -- even cable TV!
We will be readily available in case of questions or emergencies, and our neighbours on the quay will also be on hand, so there are no boat safety issues to deal with. Indeed, it turns out that a 100' boat weighing 100 tons just seems to sit there, pretty much fine, untended! About the only thing guests have to remember to do is water the plants.
The price for this option is $2,500 a week (minimum stay), and just $2,000 for each full week thereafter. That works out to about $300 day for a luxurious apartment that is perfect for a couple but can accommodate a third person on the living room sleeper sofa. Get unbelievable cachet for the price of a moderate hotel!
Sorry, no more than three persons can be accommodated, all guests must be at least 16, and the boat is completely non smoking.
* During the second half of June and all of July ONLY unhosted stays are offered. Other times, unhosted stays are possible, subject to availability.
We welcome your inquiries, and any questions you might have about these
issues.
David and Laura Ann Novick.
