The canals are, at the most, only a few hours travelling from your home and your holiday begins as soon as you arrive at one of our boatyards. By comparison, the struggle of going overseas through crowded seaports and air terminals
Once you have settled in your boat and started your cruise under friendly
instruction, a holiday on the canals gives you relaxation with a real
difference. Steering your boat and working the locks will absorb everyone’s
interest, whilst the ever changing scenery and abundant wildlife will fascinate
you. Moorhens, grebe, coot, heron and kingfisher have all made the canals their
haven.
Stopping when you wish, you have the freedom to visit castles, museums, country houses and parks which are close at hand and, of course, the many canal-side pubs awaiting your pleasure. Meeting people from all walks of life at the locks and pubs also makes this a friendly and fun holiday.
Built some 200 years ago the canals formed the basis of the transport system that started the industrial revolution. Now, long forgotten by industry they have reverted to the quiet waterways which take you back in time offering you a holiday experience never to he forgotten.
All of our personnel are accredited by the British Marine Federation for Hire Boat Instruction & Handover Procedures, so you will be in safe hands.
As well as a full week holidays we also offer short breaks cruising some of the best scenery on the canals.

The Llangollen Canal
Outstanding beauty with so much to see and do from its junction with the Shropshire Canal on the Cheshire Plain, all the way up to its navigable limit in the northern Welsh hills. The Llangollen Canal combines all the elements of a beautiful scenic cruise with an unforgettably spectacular adventure. Start your holiday on the Llangollen’s English side and your journey carries you through lush green countryside against a backdrop of purple Welsh hills rising in the distance.
The adventure continues as you cross high over the bubbling River Ceiriog on the 70ft high Chirk Aqueduct and follow the canal underground through the 459 yard long Chirk Tunnel. The canal wends its way through hills and ancient woodlands until it brings you face to face with the most spectacular of the seven wonders of the waterways... the majestic Pontcysyllte Aqueduct - 1000ft long and looking down on the valley of the River Dee, 120ft below.
Past Pontcysyllte the canal narrows and limestone cliffs soar above until you reach Llangollen, home to the beautiful Horseshoe Falls and the last stage of your wonderful adventure on the Llangollen Canal

Maestermyn Marina is situated adjacent to the A495 between
Whittington and Ellesmere ideally placed for a Lock Free cruise through
Shropshire’s lake district.
The Narrowboat Inn is incorporated on the site and you can complete your day
with a drink and a meal after your cruise.
This is an ideal way to get a taste for canal cruising, and if you subsequently book a full week hire boat holiday with us we will reduce the hire price by £30
