Recently awarded the Best Country House Restaurant 2005 by Food & Wine Magazine and 2005 Sunday Times - Best Country House: - leave the world behind and begin your affair with Castle Leslie

On entering the grounds of the estate, there is an immediate sense of freedom and total privacy as the stresses and responsibilities of your world are left behind. Part of Castle Leslie’s magic is its ability to envelop anyone who visits in an aura of times gone past and complete respite from the world at large. The estate boasts three lakes, rolling parkland and a fine covering of mature native hardwoods. Oak, Ash, Sycamore and Yew form part of the ancient woods of Truagh that goes back to Celtic times
During the
three centuries that this extraordinary place has been in the Leslie family, it
has changed remarkably little – and the fascinating history intrigues guests.

Once inside the massive front door (guarded by family dogs that snooze in beds flanking the stone steps) there is no reception desk, just a welcoming oak panelled hall. The Castle is a complete step back in time with no phones, television sets or clocks in the rooms, although concessions to the 20th Century have been made in the form of generous heating and plentiful hot water.
