Ruthven House is a fine Victorian family house set in attractive gardens and grounds amidst beautiful countryside with stunning views to the Cheviot Hills in the distance. The house is situated some 3 miles North of the historic town of Coldstream, about 8 miles South of the delightful county town of Duns and approximately 14 miles West of Berwick-upon-Tweed with it's Intercity connections to the North and South. Alnwick, which was recently awarded "The most desirable town to live in", is only 30 miles away and well worth a visit.  Ruthven House is well situated within an hour and a half's drive from Edinburgh by taking the A68 South to Carfraemill and the A697 to Coldstream. From the South the A 697 leads off the A1 just North of Morpeth to Coldstream

The house is south facing with a gently sloping lawn leading to the paddocks which lie to the front of the house. It is ideally situated as a half way house between the South of England and The North of Scotland.

Ruthven works very well as a base for up to 6 couples wishing to visit the Borders to Fish, play Golf or generally take in the Beautiful Countryside, Historic Houses and the Tranquility of the area. You will be looked after in great comfort and an excellent 3 or 4 course dinner can be provided each night.

Accommodation

Ruthven House offers the visitor a truly magnificent venue for a holiday. The spacious rooms are comfortable and tastefully furnished and with large windows affording splendid views of the surrounding countryside.

3 twin bedrooms - 3 bathrooms.  A shower is available for residents use.
A cot is available for those with small children
Full central heating.
Rooms have coffee and tea making facilities, television, hair dryers.
No smoking in the bedrooms please.
 
A lock up garage is available by prior request.

We are also an ideal place for an "Out Of Office" get together for senior executives, having telephone, fax and e-mail facilities, allowing important decisions to be made away from the bustle of the work place.

As well as staying for Bed and Breakfast for a day or two whilst visiting the Borders, the house lends itself particularly well to Fishing, Golfing or Shooting parties, for which further accommodation can be made available.
