La Fermette is a traditional Normandy “colombage” cottage, built over 200 years ago and is situated in a peaceful area in a great location opposite an historic beech forest.
Close to Dieppe (17 miles) and Rouen (30 miles) and only 10 minutes from Neufchatel en Bray. Great shopping in both town and city.
Over the past few years it has been renovated
and restored, and now provides comfortable accommodation for up to six people.

The house is heavily beamed inside and benefits from double-glazing. It faces south, stands in approx 1 ˝ acres of enclosed garden with mature trees, herb area and newly planted fruit trees, and sits on the top of a slight hill, opposite the Forest D’Eawy. Lawns are laid to the front, rear and sides of the house and the sloping meadow land gives children ample room to play safely. The house has been decorated throughout in bright cheerful colours to enhance the holiday mood.
Accommodation
The cottage is comfortably furnished and maintained to a high standard.
Downstairs
The kitchen/breakfast room
has been completely fitted out with Italian tiled work surfaces, with cupboards
above and below, and finished in American Oak. Dishwasher fitted under worktop.
Fitted self-cleaning electric oven/grill, with four-ring electric hob, and
extractor fan above.

Microwave oven. Electric kettle and toaster. Free standing larder fridge with
small freezer on top. Window above double sink, with views of front garden and
forest.
Large breakfast table (for 6). Twelve place settings in classic white china,
ample cutlery, and cooking pans and utensils. Tea towels and oven gloves are
provided.
Shower room shower cubicle and wash basin; a separate WC, and a cloakroom/utility area. A door leads to the sun lounge which is equipped with garden table and six chairs.
The lounge
has a large fireplace, with attractive wood burning stove for lovely log fires.
There are two settees, two armchairs, coffee table and satellite TV with English
programmes.
A window over looks the front garden. Stairs to the side of the fireplace lead
up to the double bedroom. A telephone for incoming calls. A separate arrangement
can be made to allow guests to make outgoing calls, or to access the internet
point with their own laptop. A beamed division leads into the dining room. The
large table will seat 8. A door opens into the front garden.

To the rear of the lounge, is another beamed division. This has a window overlooking the patio and rear garden. There is a large book case with English books, cane chairs, desk, and lamp. At one end a staircase leads up to two bedrooms and a bathroom. At the very end is a door leading to the laundry/store room.
The laundry/store room contains a washing machine, drying lines, airer, ironing board, iron, etc. A door leads out to the side of the house and a drying area. Window overlooking rear garden.
Upstairs The main staircase leads up to a small landing with fitted cupboards. To the left is a tiled bathroom, with WC, wash basin, fitted bath and hand held shower over. Window overlooking rear garden.
Bedroom one. This has twin beds, dressing table with drawer space and mirror, small stool, two bedside tables with lamps, and a wardrobe. Laundry basket, waste paper basket, and towel stand. There is a small cane settee. Twin beds have mattress covers, duvets, and two pillows each. A window over looks the front. Fitted carpet.
Bedroom two is identical to bedroom one, but has a fitted wardrobe instead of free standing. A double chest of drawers, with mirror over replaces the dressing table. Fitted carpet.
The double bedroom is above the kitchen, accessed by a separate staircase. It has a large window overlooking the side garden and forest. A double bed wardrobe, chest of drawers with mirror, bedside tables, lamps and a small cane armchair. Also linen bin, waste basket, and towel stand. Fitted carpet.
The bedrooms and bathroom are in the roof and have sloping ceilings and many exposed beams. Bedroom one and two do not have shutters, but all other windows and doors are shuttered. The electric radiators in every room are individually thermostatically controlled There are three radio/cassette players, selection of games, jigsaws, and children’s board games.
Around the area
Ideally situated for those who like walking, cycling, horse riding and bird watching.
Village shops just 3 miles distant – or buy fresh bread and croissants on the doorstep from the boulangerie van. Wonderful Normandy cuisine at the Ferme Auberge (country restaurant) in the village.
Stunning 18 hole golf course within 10 minutes drive. Coastal course at Dieppe. Two more courses within 30 minutes drive. Eight different gardens open to the public - less than 30 minutes drive. (Monet’s garden just over the hour)
Sea, river or pond fishing close by. Lovely sandy beaches with rock pools at low tide near Dieppe. Succulent sea food available in the markets – temptingly priced in the Dieppe restaurants.

Casino’s at Dieppe and Forges les Eaux Visit historic Rouen where Joan of Arc was burnt at the stake.
Rouen:- A day trip here is a must - but it is near enough to pop in for the afternoon for a spot of shopping.
Explore the banks of the Seine – between Rouen and Le Havre Sample the specialities of the area – shop in the local country markets.
Many different boat trips on the Seine, departing from Rouen. Some boats have restaurants.

Good shopping at Dieppe and Rouen. Museums, art galleries. Usual seaside activities at Dieppe and along coast. Honfleur, Paris, Monet’s garden, 1st World War Battlefields, D Day landing beaches, even Disneyland ideal for day excursions.
