Le Petit Coin is a traditional farm cottage situated in the grounds of Domain des Bruyeres, with a private garden and shared use of the swimming pool.

Domain des Bruyeres  offers 2 gites both of them in its own secluded corner of the grounds, approximately 100 meters apart, with access to the 14 meter x 5 meter swimming pool which is situated between the 2 gites though closest to Le Petit Coin.

If you are fed up with the sound of traffic this is the place for you.

There is a private drive which leads to the cottage hidden in a sunny corner of Domain des Bruyères which is farm and home to Neil and Kim Blythen. 

The farm offers a lake (Anglers welcome) and woodlands in gentle and peaceful countryside. It is ideal for observing wildlife, walking and cycling.  There are horses grazing in the meadows, and  Chickens, Dogs, Cats and Owls are all part of everyday life here. 

Between April and mid June you will hear the nightingales song day and night accompanied by the melody of frogs and crickets and Owls.

The cottage grounds are bordered by pastures and fields where organic produce like  sunflowers, lupins, linseed, maize and wheat are grown.

The fenced garden provides a shaded garage area with garden furniture and a barbecue. 

There is a path that leads from the garden to the shared pool with Roman steps.

The paved surround offers both hot and shaded areas.

Accommodation

The cottage has exposed beams and inglenook fireplace in the living room which has a dining and living area with open plan kitchen.

Kitchen

The kitchen is equipped with a gas cooker, fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, coffee machine and also has a expresso machine.

Bedrooms

There are 3 bedrooms:-

One double and 2 twins sharing a shower room with a washbasin and WC.

Hairdryer provided. 

Bed linen is included and beds are made on arrival. 

Please note that the cottage is a non-smoking area.

We do like to point out that it is only suitable for children if properly supervised because of the farming activities of our property.

We appreciate that children like to explore and have only their safety in mind.

During your stay we can generally offer you fresh herbs, salads, vegetables and free range eggs.

Thyme, rosemary and sage are also planted in your garden for your use.

Around the area

Ideal for lovers of flora and fauna, birdwatching and fishing, it is on the doorstep of La Brenne Natural Park with its Mille Etang, a veritable haven for birds and water fowl.

For basic shops Lignac and Thollet are only a couple of miles down the road. Lignac has a very good bread shop for fresh early morning croissants and baguettes.

La Trimouille just 6 miles north has a small supermarket, 2 butchers, 3 boulangeries, 2 chemists, 2 hairdressers, stationers and 2 doctors, plus tennis courts and 2 restaurants.

Montmorillon is a delightful Roman town and on Wednesday morning's there is a very a colourful market.

Chauvigny approximately 30 mins,  is a very old and delightful medieval town situated between us and Poitiers of Futuroscope fame, about 1 hours drive.  Chauvigny offers the Chateau des Aigles where you can enjoy a display of eagles, owls, falcons etc., from the medieval ruins high above the town situated on the Vienne river.

La Vallee des Singes is a unique sanctuary where you are allowed to feed the monkeys on their own islands at feeding time.  The children will love the monkeys that climb on them and take the food that they have to give them..

L'ille aux Serpants at LA Trimouille is for reptile lovers. 

Futuroscope not to be missed. A great day out for the whole family for 32 euros per adult which includes the evening firework display and incredible laser show.

St. Savin offers an abbey famous for its frescoes.
