Bodrain Farmhouse was a working farmhouse was once occupied by the family Lucas.

Welcome to La Maison Fermiere. This beautiful farmhouse is situated in the hamlet of Bodrain, in the Blavet Valley, close to the old market town of Baud.

It has been well thought out, newly renovated, with spacious accommodation, which retains many of the original features. Open stone work in some areas, exposed beams throughout, original stone Breton fireplace, original wood floor, comfy sofas and central heating, (low season only).

Ideal for a large party to live in, without getting on top of each other.

Bedrooms

On the first floor:- Two bedrooms, one double and one twin. There is a separate shower room, with a WC and washbasin.

 A separate staircase leads to an en-suite master/family bedroom, one double, one single and a cot.

On the ground floor:-  There are two bedrooms:- One double and one twin. There is a separate bathroom, with a bath, shower and WC with a washbasin. Also, a laundry room.

Lounge

The large lounge has the original Breton stone fireplace and original wood floor. Three large sofas, television, video, and staircase leading to the first floor. The passage leads to a spacious living area comprising of a modern well-equipped country kitchen, dining area, 2 large sofas and chair, with French doors leading to the garden.

 Garden

The garden, which is totally fenced, has an enclosed private heated swimming pool, for sole use of house occupants. (May to September), pool furniture, patio with garden furniture, stone BBQ, Pergola, slide and swings, overlooking open countryside.

       
 

The price includes linen (except for towels which are not provided), electricity, water and central heating, (low season only), cots, highchairs and welcome pack are all included. 

 

 

Around the area

Whilst Bodrain is situated in a quiet and rural location, it offers the opportunity to explore the typical French market town of Baud, (5 minutes away), with 2 large supermarkets, a number of bakers, butchers and a fresh fish shop, and a varied amount of restaurants to choose from. Picturesque towns of medieval Vannes, Aurays art galleries, the beach at Carnac and the famous Gulf of Morbihan.

Activities

Fishing, walking, water sports, cycling, (there are cycles and helmets at the house) and numerous golf courses. Out of season Golfing breaks, Breakfast available.

For the enthusiastic golfers there are five 18 hole and two 9 hole courses within easy reach of La Maison Fermiere. Also listed is Dinard Golf Club which is short drive from St. Malo. This a beautiful links course which can be played prior to driving down to the farmhouse. There are also discounted green fee packages available for the five local 18 hole courses.

Places to visit

Carnac and La Trinite-sur-Mer (approx 1 hour)

Carnac is essentially a beach resort situated on the Bay of Quiberon with a long sandy beach and warm water. You can also wind surf here. There are lots of tourist shops and restaurants. The old town is also worth a visit.

La Trinite-sur-Mer is adjacent to Carnac and has a large marina and some excellent shops and galleries.

Quiberon (approx 1 hour) (benefiting from the sea warming effects of the Gulf stream ) stretches fourteen kilometres into the sea and boasts 14 sandy beaches and more than 2,500 hours of sunlight a year. The main town of Quiberon is an attractive seaside resort with a large sandy beach, promenade and plenty of beachside bars, restaurants and souvenir shops.

On the way down visit the typical fishing port of Portivy with its sea food restaurants.
It also has a casino.

You can take the ferry from Quiberon to Le Palais on the 'Belle Ile' (The beautiful Island) where you can hire bicycles and explore the island. The ferry departs from Port Maria.

 Markets

Hennebont - A big market covering the centre of the city. Thursday morning 9am.

Lorient - A very good big market in the centre of town. Wednesday and Saturday morning. This big city is good for shopping too.

Auray - Quite large. Monday morning.

Carnac - Sunday mornings

La Trinite-summer - Friday morning. This is also a pretty sailing centre.

Quiberon - A very good market to visit on Saturday morning.

Baud - A small market, but worth a visit on Saturday morning.
