Situated near Dinan, only 30 minutes from beaches, the channel port of St. Malo and Dinard airport.

Launay Arot consists of a cluster of typical Breton stone cottages and barns which in parts are thought to be in excess of three hundred years old. Beautifully restored and refurbished to provide comfortable holiday cottages situated in a rural and peaceful setting, and within easy reach of ferry ports, beaches and many local attractions.

Launay Arot is situated amidst peaceful farmland about 20 minutes drive from the beautiful Brittany coast. There are two acres of gardens and playing fields including a small children's play area, and a boules pitch. Picnic tables and barbecues are provided for each cottage, and there are plenty of places to have a quiet barbecue.

The grounds are child-friendly; we are situated just off an extremely quiet rural road, and there is plenty of space for the children to play and explore in complete safety.

All the gites have heating, hot water and bed linen provided within the price. The English owners, Nick and Sue Thain live on site all year, so there is always someone available to provide advice and assistance with all those important matters such as shopping, eating out, finding the best places to visit etc. Our aim is to retain and improve the character and ambience of Launay Arot as a "family friendly" place to enjoy quiet, stress-free holidays within easy reach of a multitude of attractions for both adults and children.

About the area

Northern Brittany is famous for its spectacular 1,200 kms of rugged coastline with its wonderful sandy bays and rocky coves. Its historic towns and ancient fishing ports are fascinating places to visit, and of course, to sample the fabulous seafood such as fruits de mer, moules, scallops, whelks, lobsters and the most succulent oysters. Many eating places also offer galettes and crepes, which are the traditional Breton pancakes made with white flour or buckwheat. The picturesque town of St. Malo is a short drive away, whilst mediaeval Dinan is but 15 minutes from Launay Arot.

Places to Visit

Dinan, St Malo, Mont St Michel, Rennes, Combourg,  the Zoo at Bourbansais and St Quay Portrieux are all worth a visit.

The nearest shops are about 5 kms in Plelan-le-Petit.

Activities

Swimming, Tennis, Sailing Golf and Horse riding are just 15 minutes drive away. The nearest Bar is Trebedan ( 3 minutes drive) and La Tombe (5 minutes drive). Plenty of restaurants are available in the area to have a meal.

*Prices shown are for up to 6 people. For one or two additional guests,
please add £20 per person per week.

Wednesday or Saturday changeovers, subject to availability.

Security deposit:
A refundable £100 per cottage security deposit will be requested
prior to arrival. This is to cover accidental breakages etc.

Payment:
We ask for a 30% non-returnable deposit at time of booking, with the
balance plus security deposit payable 8 weeks before arrival date

Short breaks and special offers:
From time to time we have vacancies which allow us to accept short term bookings (minimum 2 nights). Short break bookings are more likely to be available out of the high season and can be very useful for house hunting, a relaxing long weekend or visiting friends.

Changeovers:

Subject to availability, we offer either Wednesday or Saturday changeovers, as mid week ferries are usually cheaper and often less crowded than weekend crossings.
We ask our guests to please arrive after 4.00pm and, at the end of your stay, to ensure that the cottages are vacated by 10.00am in order to give us sufficient time to prepare for our next guests.
