This medieval house is ideally situated to explore this wonderful part of Italy. Set It is in a narrow, traffic-free street just inside the city walls.

Cortona is one of the oldest cities in Italy - dating back at least to Etruscan times. It is now a very lively place, particularly in the evenings, and there are many shops, bars and restaurants just a short walk from the house. The town has recently achieved fame in Frances Mayes' book 'Under the Tuscan Sun'  - later made into a feature film starring Diane Lane.

The city centre has many bars, restaurants and shops just a short distance away above the house. 

Accommodation

A recently modernised house and having retained its traditional features of terracotta floors and beamed ceilings. The property is centrally heated and also has a telephone for your use.

Ground floor:-  There is a comfortably furnished sitting room with TV video and Hi-fi.

Kitchen/Dining Room:-  Equipped kitchen with hob, microwave and a fridge. Upstairs you will find the washing machine.

Upstairs:-  It has open stairs to the first floor, where there:-

Bedroom 2:- This Single bedroom, is available at a small extra supplement.

Stairs to the second floor where there is:-

Bedroom 3:-  with double bed, and a modern bathroom with bath. There is also attic storage area with houses the washing machine.
It overlooks a pretty garden, behind a high wall opposite the house.

Car Parking:- ample car-parking just a few minutes away outside the walls.

Around the area

There is a street market on a Saturday morning. In the summer months you will find plenty of outdoor concerts and operas.

Cortona has two wonderful museums and churches and other buildings which date from medieval and renaissance times. Beautiful furniture is made here and there is a world-famous antique fair in September.

There is swimming pool below Cortona with well-kept grass, sunshades and loungers

In the surrounding area of Cortona there is some stunning countryside with footpaths for walkers and hikers to explore.

Places to visit

Montepulciano, Siena, San Gimignano, Assissi, Perugia, Gubbio, and Lake Trasimeno.

Florence is just over an hour away by train or car.
Tariff

£450.00 per week

Price per week includes linen, gas and electricity, but not any phone calls. that you may have made.

Changeover day is Saturday.
