Accommodation for 6 persons in three bedrooms.

La Canonica was originally part of the adjoining 17th century villa. Although part of the village, it stands in a private walled garden, so privacy is absolute (there is an entry-phone on the gate). There is plenty of space with garden furniture for sunbathing or al-fresco meals. 

Sant'Andrea di Compito is a little town 10 kms from Lucca, Tuscany in an unspoilt green valley surrounded by forested hills. The combination of hills, sea and proximity to places of cultural interest make this a holiday location to suit and inspire all moods and fancies.

All facilities are in the town and also the next town on.  Pizza-shops and restaurants offer good food at reasonable prices in both towns, and cities nearby.

The area offers many interesting festivals celebrating ancient traditions: a Camelia Festival in March, a flower show in April, a plant and flower show on the ancient Walls of Lucca in September, the wine festival in Monte Carlo, the Settembre Lucchese which is a very important meeting for all people living abroad and that come to the origin on that occasion. Many sagre (outdoor dinners) in many towns, Puccini's opera festival in Torre del Lago Puccini, and many concerts in Lucca and surrounding places

Accommodation

Furnishings and decor are traditional, with the warm colours of ancient wooden beams and red "terracotta" tiles.

The Accommodation consists of:-  three bedrooms (two double, one twin), all furnished and decorated to a good standard. The bathroom and living room are on the upper floor, a dining room, living room,  kitchen and one of the bedrooms is on the ground floor, the laundry and shower room are on the ground floor.

All bed and bath linen is supplied, and also 4 beach towels.

Kitchen

The kitchen is well equipped with crockery, glasses, pans, etc. a sink, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge and freezer, electric oven with grill, 4 ring gas hob.  Kitchen towels and table cloths are provided.

Dining Room

The dining room is bright and spacious furnished with an extendable table and six chairs.

Outside

There is a Terrace and a garden with garden furniture.

Parking space.

Children are welcome.

 Pets welcome.

Information

There is an information book for any questions or problems that guests may have, and the owners live in a separate house just behind La Canonica. They are friendly, they enjoy meeting people, and they like to help foreigners to understand and live italian culture and style of life.

The owners are happy to help with house cleaning if necessary and if requested, for long stays they may provide a maid if requested.
For all year bookings, early and late season bookings the house has full central heating as well as open fireplace and logs (mainly olive wood) which are freely available for you to use and when required.

There is a TV set with 3 italian channels. a video player and a cd player, telephone and fax.

You need to hire a car as transport is cheap but not easy. If you don't we can help you but you must be patient with buses and coaches timetables which sometimes are not too efficient. You are asked to try to enjoy walks ad waiting!

Florence and Pisa airports are only half an hour away.

Places to visit

Pisa, Viareggio, Forte dei Marmi, Livorno, Carrara, Pietrasanta, Camaiore, Le Cinque Terre, Montecatini, Barga e La Garfagnana, the Apuans Alps are very interesting places to visit for their natural beauty, art, marble and handicraft.

Walking-paths in and around the town through valley and pinewoods.

Tennis facility available locally.

Swimming pools in towns nearby

General markets twice a week in Lucca. Antique market in Lucca and Bientina on the 3rd and 4th weekends each month.
 
Tariff

Price is per week: 650 Euros including cleaning and washing after departure. In the price telephone, electricity and gas cost is not included.

The house is available for long and short rentals, no less than a week.  Best period form late April to early October.
