Farmhouse with Private Pool - Sleeps 8

Quinta da Matina is a beautiful renovated farmhouse set on the edge of the village of Portelas, having views of Funchal ridge to the south and Monchique mountains to the north east.

Set in this peaceful location only 5 minutes from the beach makes this the ideal place for people looking for a tranquil yet being near the historic town of Lagos with it's many resturants, beach bars, the marina, interesting shops and discos.

Accommodation

The farmhouse is spacious and 'L' shaped and on one level making it safe for children and easy for older people.Folding beds can be provided for additional  people.

Bedrooms

Master bedroom: - Emperor size bed -  patio doors opening onto pool terrace.
Bedroom 2: - Twin single beds - patio doors opening onto pool terrace.
Bedroom 3: - Double bed - patio doors opening onto pool terrace.
Bedroom 4: - Twin single beds.

Bathrooms

Bathroom 1: - with bath, shower over, bidet, toilet and basin.
Bathroom 2 :- en-suite to bedroom 2 - Shower, toilet and basin.
Bathroom 3: - en-suite to bedroom 3 - Shower, toilet and basin.
Cloakroom: - with toilet and basin.

Kitchen

The Kitchen is large and fully equipped with cooker, hob, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, juicer, blender, toaster, kettle, all crockery, glassware and utensils.

Utility Room

The Utility room is equipped with Washing machine, deep freeze, fridge freezer, iron and ironing board.

Living Room

Large comfortable lounge with woodburner, T.V, radio CD player, books and games. There are patio doors which lead onto the covered terrace for 'alfresco' eating overlooking the pool.

Dining Room

The dinning room is spacious and has table seating for 8 people.

Other

The entrance hall has space for prams, golf clubs etc. and has a cloakroom leading off.

There is a maid five mornings a week, towels are changed twice a week and linen once a week

Please note:- for people that have allergies or problems with animals there are horses, dogs and cats living with the owners on the adjoining property.

Outside

Outside there is a large private pool 15m x 5m x 3m in deep end - 0.9m in shallow end, the pool has underwater lighting which creates a luxurious ambience whilst dining in the evening on the covered terrace, surrounding the pool the walled garden has mature palms and many colourful sub tropical plants, there is a covered terrace with table and chairs, on uncovered terraces there are sunloungers, table chairs and umbrella, dual purpose built barbeque, the pool area can be secured against small children. The house is approached by a private drive opening onto a large paved area in front of the house and open garage.

Coast/Beach

Beaches in Lagos are about 2.5 kms, 5 minutes in the car. There are many other beaches further along the south coast worth exploring within twenty minutes drive. The west coast is about 25 minutes and popular with surfers and is always quieter even in high season.

Around the area

For basics there is a mini market in the village. In Lagos there are supermarkets, fish and vegetable markets, banks, Museum, interesting churches a marina, watersports centre, tennis, golf, micro lighting centre, there are very many restaurants both for indoor or pavement dining for all tastes and pockets, bars, discos, street entertainers. There is downhill mountain bike riding in Monchique.

Golf

Palmares 18 hole Golf course is 10 minutes away and has spectacular views over the Bay of Lagos. Penina Golf course has choice of two 18 hole and a 9 hole course and is 20 minutes away. Boa Vista on the road going west out of Lagos has a new 18 hole course and is 10 minutes away. Parque da Floresta has a challenging 18 hole course and is 25 minutes.

Travel

Faro airport is 78 kms and under one hour drive on the new motorway to Lagos.
Car hire is strongly recommended and we will be happy to arrange a hire car to meet you on arrival at Faro. We can let you have Car hire details and rates of a very competive local company whom we have dealt with for many years.

Tariff

Notes on prices:- Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds.
Additional number of people over 8 can be accommodated on folding beds at a cost of 50% of the pro rata rate.
Cot hire charge is £50.

Change over day is Saturday, arrival time 14.00hrs vacating time 12.00 hrs. Luggage can be left before or after these times.
