Wellwood Lodge is a spacious detached family home, built in the Victorian era, with an ambience to reflect its period.  Situated in a quiet residential area half a mile from the centre of the spa town of Buxton, at the gateway to the Peak District National Park.

There are delightful far reaching views. The house is on a hillside, with a terrace style garden at the rear with a small lawn and an outdoor sitting area.

The roof of the double garage doubles as a patio. A path with handrail ascends from the pavement, (no steps). It is the ideal holiday base for the larger party, spacious, comfortable and well equipped.

Accommodation

Ground Floor comprises of:-

Lounge:- Very spacious lounge, with coal effect gas fire, TV and video, and lounge seating for 12 persons. 

Dining area:- Dining room, with space for everyone to dine together. 

Toilet:-  with shower cubicle and washbasin.

Kitchen:-  The well equipped kitchen, with ample work surfaces and storage, leads through to the Victorian style conservatory with sitting area, and door to rear garden.

Utility room:-  equipped with washer and tumble dryer. 

Basement :- Games room with 6' x 3' Snooker table and table football. 

First Floor:-

Bedrooms:-  Double bedroom with  5ft bed, ensuite shower cubicle, toilet and vanity unit. 
1 twin bedroom
1 double double room with washbasin,  
1 double bedroom, 

Second Floor: -

Bedrooms:- 1 twin bedroom and 1 double bedroom with extra single bed (for twin use).

The master bedroom is ensuite, additionally there is a bathroom with shower over bath and a shower room with toilet and washbasin. On the ground floor is a wc with shower and washbasin.

Full gas central heating, all bed linen with duvets, 1 travel cot, 2 highchairs, 3 TVs, DVD player, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave oven, range style electric ovens and gas hob, payphone.

Parking

Garages for 2 cars with further off road parking for 2 cars.

Around the Area

There are a variety of shops, restaurants and pubs situated in the vibrant town are an easy 10 minute walk, making it the ideal location for families with older children seeking a little independence, as well as groups of adults seeking entertainment, without needing to use a car! The train station and bus stops to many peak district locations is a 10 minute walk.
A particular delight is being able to walk into the countryside from the door, Buxton's Victorian themed Pavilion gardens, spa water swimming pool and Opera house which hosts many fine shows, concerts, festivals including the Gilbert and Sullivan festival in July and August and of course the Opera.

Places to visit

Within half an hours drive you can visit stately homes, caverns, walking and biking trails, museums open countryside and a myriad of other places to suit all ages, whatever the weather there is a huge variety of ways to enjoy oneself.

Tariff: 2008/2009

Weekly bookings run from Friday to Friday, with short breaks available from Friday to Monday or midweek. We do not take weekend breaks for the main holiday periods except in the preceding 3 months.
