Whitminster House Cottages are open all year. We are picturesquely located to explore the Cotswolds and Heart of England from the Severn Vale /Cotswolds edge in Gloucestershire
Accommodations
All our self-contained Self Catering accommodation is registered with the Heart of England Tourist Board and graded from ** up to *** so that we may offer our guests a choice of size, quality and price. Bed Linen (& towels for overseas visitors) included.
Each property has a Telephone, colour TV/Video, Electric Cooker, Microwave and Fridge/Freezer. Most also have Dishwasher and Washing/Drying machines too. Cots available on request ( but not cot linen), Electricity and Telephone charges are calculated from meter readings. Children and Pets are welcome in most properties. 2 Separate under-cover party areas are available with some cottage combinations, there is a small extra charge.
We hope you may be able to find a property to ideally suit your groups, of whatever size. Our 8 properties sleep from 2 up to 10+ and can be combined variously for parties of 14 to 47 (54 max).
The West Wing
Sleeps 2/4 on the 1st floor or up to 10 using first and second floors. Works well if used with The Old Stables Cottage. Together they can accommodate groups of 14/16.
1st Floor:- Large sitting room with open log fireplace, Colour TV & Video, Telephone.1 Double bedroom with en-suite bathroom (electric shower over bath) and 1 twin bedroom. Small kitchen/dining room fully equipped for 4 with Electric Cooker, Microwave, Fridge/Freezer, Dishwasher, Washer/Dryer etc.
2nd Floor:- 2 Double bedroom's. a Twin bedroom, 2 Bathrooms, separate Shower room, large Kitchen fully equipped for 10 including and Electric Cooker, Microwave, Fridge/Freezer, Dishwasher, Washer/Dryer, a separate dining room to seat 10/14+, with an extra seating area and 2nd TV. Parking for 6 cars+, and a spacious private lawn. For this property only, reasonable us of hot water all year round is included and oil fired central heating during the winter. Electricity and Telephone use is charged for by meter readings, no coins required. Garden table and chairs are provided. Barbeque and fuel is an extra £10.The West Wing and the Old Stables Cottage are not recommended for young children or pets.
The Old Stables Cottage
Sleeps 2/4+ (combines well with the West Wing for larger parties of
14/16).An attractive conversion in the Stables, across the courtyard from the Manor
House, with its own garden area and beside a brook. Parking for 1/2 cars. Sorry
no Pets.
Ground Floor:- Entrance Hall, fully equipped Kitchen/Dining room, round table with six chairs, Microwave, Electric Cooker, Fridge/Freezer, Dishwasher, Washer/Dryer etc. 1 Double Bedroom.
1st Floor:- A spacious beamed sitting room (+ a double sofa bed if required), Colour TV, Video, Telephone. 1 Double Bedroom and small Bathroom with sloping ceiling, Electric Shower over bath. Telephone and Electric by meter reading (no coins). Economy 7 night storage heating.
Church Cottage
Sleeps 6 Almost opposite the Lodge this large Victorian Cottage built
in mellow brick, has a private garden and extensive views. Parking for approx 4
cars. Well behaved pets welcome at an extra charge.
Ground Floor:- Kitchen with Electric Cooker, Microwave, Fridge/Freezer, Dishwasher, Washer/Dryer etc. Open plan Sitting room/Dining area, colour TV/Video, open fireplace. Downstairs Bathroom with Electric Shower over bath. (No upstairs bathroom)
1st Floor:- Steep stairs to - 1 Double Bedroom, 1 Twin Bedroom and a long Bedroom with sloping ceilings and 2 single beds - (teenagers or children). Telephone and Electric by meter reading (no coins). Economy 7 night storage heating.
Lodge Cottage
Sleeps 4 At the entrance to the drive of Whitminster House, this Victorian cottage
with its gothic windows has romantic charm and a secluded garden, with parking
for 1/2 cars. Well behaved pets welcome at an extra charge.
Ground Floor:- Entrance Hall, Sitting room with open fireplace, Colour TV/Video. Fully equipped Kitchen with Microwave, Electric Cooker, Dishwasher, Fridge/Freezer etc. Double glazed Conservatory, Dining Room, downstairs bathroom with shower over bath (no upstairs bathroom).
1st Floor:- Steep stairs to one double bedroom & Twin Bedroom with original iron bedsteads, plus useful loft space. Telephone and Electric by meter reading. (no coins).
Walk Farmhouse 0n the Whitminster Estate. A large friendly house suitable for a family get
together and reunions.
Sleeps 10/11 - A spacious Elizabethan Farmhouse which has been divided into 4 separate cottages of various sizes, each is self- contained with its own entrance, lawn and parking. The two larger houses can be opened through together on the ground floor if booked by the same party, and larger parties may be combined with either or both of the adjacent smaller cottages Sleeping 23 up to 28. Good sized lawns and parking for 4/5 cars. Well behaved pets welcome at an extra charge.
Ground Floor:- A large Sitting room, open fireplace, colour TV/Video and Telephone. Spacious Kitchen/Dining room fully equipped with Electric Range Cooker, Hostess Trolley etc. Separate Laundry room with Washing Machine and Tumble Dryer. A third bathroom with Shower over bath.
1st Floor:- 1 Double Bedroom with en-suite bathroom (shower over bath), 1 Large Twin Bedroom(+ single sofa bed), 1 Single Bedroom, family Bathroom & Airing Cupboard.
2nd Floor:- Steep stairs to 2 Attic Bedrooms, 1 Double Bedroom and 1 long Triple Bedroom.
All units have Economy 7 heating night storage background heating, and all have Showers over the Bath.
Walk House
Sleeps 7/9 An open-fenced lawn with built in Barbeque. Parking for 2/3 cars. Well behaved pets welcome ( extra charge).
Ground Floor:- A large comfortable Sitting Room, colour TV/Video and Telephone. Pretty Kitchen/Dining Room fully equipped with Dishwasher, Electric Cooker, Microwave, Fridge/Freezer etc. Larder and Laundry facilities with Washing Machine and Tumble Dryer.
1st Floor:- 2 Double Bedrooms, 1 Single Bedroom with Sofa Bed, and 2 bathrooms both with Electric Shower over bath.
2nd Floor:- A light Attic room with Twin Beds and Sofa Bed on private outside landing.
Walk Close Suitable for the Disabled or Elderly.
Sleeps 3/4 All on one level with Wheelchair access and Double Glazing. Well behaved pets welcome (extra charge). A light and cosy Sitting Room with French Doors leading out to the small terrace and green area, colour TV/Video. A wide Hallway with metered Telephone (no coins), leading into a long Kitchen/Dining Room fully equipped with Microwave, Dishwasher, Electric Cooker, Washer/Dryer etc. Easy wheelchair access to the table. 1 Double Bedroom, Single Bedroom, plus Sofa Bed in the Sitting Room if required. A large Bathroom with 2 doors, Wheelchair accessible Electric Shower and wall seat, low basin and high toilet. Instant hot water. Parking by front door and room for another on parallel drive if required.
Walk Farm Cottage
Sleeps 3/4 Pleasant accommodation for Holiday or Business use.
Ground Floor:- 1 Double and 1 Single Bedroom, small Bathroom with Electric Shower over Bath, and wall hand grip.
1st Floor:- Large L shaped Sitting/Dining Room (+ Sofa Bed). colour TV/Video, Fridge/Freezer, separate Kitchenette with Electric Cooker, Microwave etc, metered Telephone (no coins required), Parking, Lawn and Bench. Well behaved pets welcome (extra charge).
We have Table Tennis and BBQs etc. for your use.
We also cater for wedding receptions special occasion parties.
Whitminster House is a Grade 11* Manor with spacious lawns to take a Marquee or Pavilion for guest numbers from 50 - 500. We act as your Wedding Planner and arrange everything for the reception.
Special Occasion parties are booked through Whitminster House Estate Offices. The Reception Rooms may be hired for candle lit diner parties (18-max 24) to be seated in the dining room together with self-catering accommodations. We can arrange good Caterers to `serve` or `drop off`, as required, for a Special Occasion party. We now also have two extra party rooms available with certain combinations of the properties Or we can arrange for caterers to deliver meals or buffet's to your accommodation, or the informal party room. We have a residential licence and cellar list.
