Pasture Cottage is situated in an idyllic location, just one mile from the village of Wolsingham. From the moment you arrive in Pasture Cottage, you will enjoy its tranquillity and beauty.

Whether walking the fells, fishing on Tunstall Reservoir, biking, horse riding
in Hamsterley forest, visiting the many historical landmarks or just relaxing in
the garden, time spent at Pasture Cottage will refresh and invigorate the
senses.

Around the area
The village of Wolsingham (a ten minute walk from the cottage) offers a good range of small shops, pubs and recreational facilities, including an indoor heated swimming pool.
Wolsingham Show, reputed to be the oldest agricultural show in England, brings a fun-fair to the village and is held during the first weekend in September, with Stanhope Show the following weekend.
To appreciate the surrounding area, a car is essential. Durham (20 minutes), Darlington (35 minutes), Newcastle (45 minutes) and The Metro Centre are within easy access for shopping, entertainment, dining, theatres and the Sage Music Centre. Explore the beautiful North East coast with its glorious beaches and castles or spend a day at Beamish Museum (25 minutes) voted British Museum of the Year. Pasture Cottage is well situated for a day’s visit to the historical city of York and is 10 minutes from the A68, a main route to Scotland.
