Nestling 1 mile south of Robin Hood's Bay - where images of smugglers abound, Boggle Hole beach is just a five minute walk from South House Farm. Tennis facilities are available to all and being on the Cleveland Way coastal walk, the accommodation appeals to both walkers and those looking for a rural retreat

South House Farm

Situated in one of Britain's most beautiful settings, South House Farm is a wonderful holiday base. Take the narrow lane from the Whitby to Scarborough road and descend into the unusually named Boggle Hole

Whitby, Scarborough, York, Castle Howard, Lightwater Valley and Flamingo Land are all within easy reach. Visit the market towns of Pickering, Helmsley and Beverley and picturesque villages up the Esk valley where the television series ‘Heartbeat’ is filmed, or take a leisurely trip on the steam railway starting at Grosmont. Wonderful walks on the Cleveland Way, the old Scarborough to Whitby railway line and cliff paths can all accessed from South House Farm.  We have woods and streams on our own land which visitors are welcome to explore. Good pub food is available in the village with excellent restaurants in Whitby and Scarborough.

The Farmhouse

A Luxury self catering farmhouse sleeping 10 (8 adults & 2/3 children) has recently been refurbished, is fully centrally heated and sits in a large garden and terraced area, with stunning views of countryside and sea. This generously sized accommodation comprises of :

First Floor:
Master bedroom with 6ft double bed and en-suite shower room.
2nd bedroom with king sized double bed.
3rd bedroom with double bed.
4th bedroom with 3ft bunk beds.

Second Floor: Large floor area with two end windows plus Velux skylights. Bedroom with king sized bed and en-suite.

Entrance Hall

Entrance hall, with stone flagged floor, downstairs WC, cloakroom. Utility room with washer and tumble dryer. Fully fitted kitchen with oil fired Aga, plus table and chairs seating 8. Formal dining room with mahogany table and chairs, 32ft lounge with traditional oil fired stove, TV, DVD, video and stereo, French doors opening on to the terrace

Orchard Cottage 

Orchard Cottage has many original features, with beamed ceilings and timbered trusses. It is centrally heated, with a spacious lounge with TV, DVD and video, electric cooker, dishwasher and microwave. All bedrooms have their own washbasins.South House Farm Cottages.  Orchard Cottage - Lounge

Outside there is a large private garden with barbeque facilities.

Mill House

Mill House is available for the first time in 2003. Along with Mill Cottage it is situated at the top of the farmyard, recently converted from a redundant stone building which originally housed the grain milling machinery.

Attached to Mill Cottage, the front door opens into the hallway with 3 bedrooms (2 en-suite doubles & a twin) and house bathroom.

Upstairs the staircase separates the kitchen from the dining / lounge area. The kitchen is fully fitted with electric cooker, microwave, fridge-freezer and dishwasher. There is a large dining table and six chairs, with 2 large sofas in the lounge area, which has colour TV, DVD and video.

The whole room has wooden flooring throughout and patio doors which open on to a balcony, giving wonderful open views towards Fylingthorpe and Robin Hood's Bay.

Mill Cottage

Mill Cottage was renovated in 2003. Along with Mill House it is situated at the top of the farmyard, recently converted from a redundant stone building which originally housed the grain milling machinery. Sleeps 2 - Sorry, no pets, or smoking allowed. Travel cot is available by arrangement

The front door of Mill Cottage reveals a lovely open plan layout, coSouth House Farm Cottages - Mill Cottage  Double roommprising of kitchen / dining / lounge area, with wooden floors throughout.

The kitchen is fitted with dishwasher, fridge-freezer, electric cooker and microwave with table and chairs under the window.

The lounge area has a settee, chair, coffee table and colour TV with DVD & video. The staircase leads onto a galleried bedroom with two 3'0 single beds.

There is a lovely bathroom with shower over the bath. This bedroom features 3 Velux skylights.

Around the area

South House Farm at Boggle Hole is ideally placed twixt Whitby, Scarborough and the coastal side of the North York Moors, with attractions to suit all tastes.

Whitby is a delightful fishing port and the home of Captain Cooke and the Endeavour. The town is steeped in history with its ruined Abbey and the steep Abbey stairs. Bram Stoker drew his inspiration here for his most famous novel 'Dracula'.

Robin Hood's Bay is just a short distance away and has many narrow passage ways that tumble down to the sea. This is a most unique place to visit, where cars are not generally allowed. Visit the antique and coffee shops to make your trip here complete.

Inland the North York Moors host the 'Heartbeat' village of Goathland. Harwood Dale and Dalby Forest are all ideal for walkers and cyclists, as is the Cleveland Way which passes close by.

Visit the market towns of Helmsley and Beverley and picturesque villages up the Esk Valley or take a leisurely trip on the steam railway starting at Grosmont. Good pub food is available in the village, with excellent restaurants nearby in Whitby and Scarborough

There are many local pubs and restaurants within easy reach to cater for all your dining requirements

Towels available at an additional charge of £15.00 per week.

A deposit of £80.00 is required on all bookings.
We ask that all cottages are left clean and tidy at the end of your stay.
All breakages must be paid for.
