Wanney Holiday Cottage is a spacious and comfortable 19th century former quarryman’s cottage set high in the Northumberland countryside, over looking the Cheviot Hills.

It is situated on a private road, 250 metres off the A68 that runs through the village of Ridsdale, in a peaceful location, offering modern facilities and private parking.
Wanney Cottage is ideally suited for exploring
the Northumbria National Park, Kielder Water, Hadrians Wall, the Pennine Way,
Border Reivers. Country and the Northumberland Coast.
Accommodation
The cottage was a former Quarryman's cottage. It is Central heated throughout with a wood
burning stove in the lounge.
Upstairs:- One
double bedroom,
with luxurious king-size bed. One single bedroom and a bathroom with over bath shower. Bed
linen and towels included.
The Double bedroom:- has a luxurious king size bed, dressing table and ample storage space.
Single Bedroom:- has single bed with storage provided in a built in wardrobe.
The Bathroom:- has a bath with shower above, fitted with a thermostatic mixer valve, WC and wash basin. Instant hot water supply is via combi boiler.
Downstairs:- You enter the cottage through a porch, into a well equipped kitchen.
Kitchen:- Equipped with
an electric oven, four burner gas hob, washing machine,
dish
washer, fridge freezer, microwave and many extras for the more ambitious cooks
among our guests! There is a utility room containing the combi boiler and space
to dry clothes.
The Lounge:- is a spacious and cosily furnished room, with a comfortable settee, easy chair and dining table with four chairs. It is heated by radiators but also has a wood burning stove, in an open fire place. We provide a colour TV with digital free view, DVD and music system.
The Sunroom:- has a double bed settee and two traditional rocking chairs. It offers wonderful views of the garden, surrounding countryside and Cheviot Hills.
Garden:- There is
also a private fenced in garden with stunning views of the Cheviot Hills.

Dogs and other small pets are
welcome by prior agreement.
Information :- Parking, is
available for two cars.
Newcastle airport is 25 miles away, and Ferry port. (Ferry from Holland) is 35
miles away.
Around the area
Provisions are available in the nearby town of
Bellingham (6 miles), or from the market town of Hexham (16 miles).
Activities:- Relax; Walking to suit all levels, Photography, Visit historic Northumberland, Bird watching, Painting, Cycling, Water Sports, Archaeology, Rock climbing, Lake fishing nearby, Horse riding, or simply visit the Gun Inn at the end of the farm track.
Places to visit.
Northumbrian market
towns of Hexham, Morpeth and Alnwick. The famous Gateshead Metro Shopping Centre
is within easy reach, as is the vibrant city of Newcastle upon Tyne. The
Scottish borders are within easy reach and a day trip to Edinburgh is also
possible
Hadrian’s Wall:- A world heritage site with many Roman sites along it's path, including the Roman Army Museum, Housesteads and Vindolanda.
Kielder Water and Forest:- Kielder is Europe’s largest man made lake offers walks, cycling and water sports.
Coast and castles:- Northumberland is renowned for it's stunning sandy beaches, sand dunes and castles. Visit Druridge Bay, the fishing village of Seahouses, Holy Island and the Farne islands or explore the many ruined and restored castles in the region, including Alnwick Castle and Gardens.

Prices vary according to the time of the year from £270 to £450
Prices including heating and electricity are per week, from Saturday to Saturday (Vacation of cottage by 10am)
For periods of less than one week, prices are calculated by the day. Please contact us regarding your requirements.
