Devon:- lies in the South West of England forming part of the West country. Bordered by Cornwall, Somerset, and Hampshire. Devon is an English county of outstanding natural beauty. Unspoilt villages nestle in secluded valleys where 'Olde worlde' pubs serve mouth watering meals and cosy thatched tea rooms delight the visitor with delicious Devon cream teas.
It's an excellent base for walkers, cyclists and fishing such as coast to coast, tarka trail, west country way, coastal path and numerous lakes. Also nearby are various 9 hole and 18 hole golf courses and horse riding stables. There is also great surfing opportunities along the north Cornish and Devon coast which is 18-25 miles away. The rugged beauty of Dartmoor lies just 11 miles away and is famous for it's walking and hiking. Riverside is also close to two forests.
If you yearn for some urban scenery and shopping the cities of Exeter and Plymouth are both 32 miles away. The picturesque and ancient capital of Cornwall, Launceston is 15 miles away. Roadford Lake is just 9 miles away and offers excellent walking paths, a bird hide for you twitches out there and also water sports.
The beaches of North Cornwall and Devon are just 18 miles away and we can recommend two beaches rarely visited by holiday makers, for that ultimate getaway. Alternatively, you can just relax in the garden, which is surrounded by trees and birdsong. The lawn runs down to the river (Parents of young children - please note the river is NOT fenced). Dine outside under the apple tree in the middle of the lawn, or under the grape arbour by the pond.
