Have a relaxing holiday in one of the three comfortable self-catering cottages in beautiful Somerset, part of England's West Country.

Our self catering accommodation consists of three one bedroom cottages, Apple Blossom, Cherry Tree and Honeysuckle.

They are in a converted barn built of local stone, nestling on the South side of the beautiful Mendip Hills.  

We are just a 15 minute walk from the spectacular Cheddar George and Cheddar Caves and the same distance from the village centre.

The Cottages

The Cottages all Have 4 star grading. The Cottages sleep 2. All cottages have ample off road parking. We regret that we cannot accommodate anyone under the age of 16 years. Price Range from £215 to £310. Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement.

The cottages have large south-facing gardens with a lawn, fruit trees and colourful flower borders. Garden furniture is provided so you may relax and enjoy the sun.

There is over an acre of grassy field for you or your pets to exercise.

There is space to hang your wet weather clothing and store your boots away from your cottage.

Apple Blossom Cottage

This part of the barn was mainly used for keeping pigs when this was a working farm. They have long since departed and this section has been transformed into a very comfortable cottage next to Cherry Tree Cottage and the farthest from Honeysuckle cottage. 

The pretty bedroom:- has a double bed and electric blanket and separate bathroom (bath and shower), are upstairs.

Downstairs:-  there is a comfortable living area with a colour television/VCR and CD player/radio.

The kitchen/dining area:- has the benefit of a refrigerator, microwave oven, electric cooker and washing machine. 

A typical weekly charge for two people sharing this cottage will range from £215 to £290 according to season. 

Cherry Tree Cottage

This cottage is between Apple Blossom and Honeysuckle cottages and the space it now occupies is believed to have been mainly for the storage of animal feed when this was a working farm. All traces of hay and straw have been swept away. It reflects its former use with the display of some old farm items.

The twin bedded room:-  has  electric blankets. Victorian style bedroom and en-suite bathroom (bath and shower), are upstairs.

The kitchen/dining/living accommodation:- is downstairs and has the benefit of books, games, colour television, VCR and a CD player/radio.

A typical weekly charge for two people sharing this cottage will range from £220 to £300 according to season. 

Honeysuckle Cottage

As you drive through the gate you pass by Apple Blossom and Cherry Tree cottages to reach this cottage, which for a time at least was used as a stable for the farm horse called Skipper. His photo hangs on the wall.

Interesting wartime recollections can be read in the cottage Notebook, supplied by one of our regular visitors who was evacuated from London at that time.

The sunny, twin bedded room:-  has electric blankets, upstairs bedroom has a country feel with its pine and cottage garden decor. The en-suite bathroom (bath and shower) is tastefully decorated to match.

 The kitchen/dining/living accommodation:- is downstairs and has the benefit of books, games, a colour television, VCR and a CD player/radio.

A typical weekly charge for two people sharing this cottage will range from £230 to £310 according to season. 

The cottages will normally only be bookable for complete weeks in June, July, August and September and during other UK holiday periods.

Information

Parking

Parking your car is no problem. There are ample marked spaces on our tarmac drive, away from the road. Undercover storage can be arranged for bicycles.

Washing

'For your hand washing there is an outdoor washing line and pegs are provided in your cottage.

For visitors to Honeysuckle and Cherry Tree Cottages the use of the washing machine in the main house is on request. A choice of washing programmes is offered at £2 per load. There will also be a charge for tumble drying as follows, if that is what you prefer.

Visitor information.

We hold a central stock of books of local interest and of walking routes. We have also prepared packs relating to some of the well-known visitor centres e.g. Bath, Bristol, Weston-super-Mare, Glastonbury and Wells giving advice on routes, parking, attractions etc.

Dog friendly places.

An extensive list of places to eat and drink where you can take your dog(s) or not, is maintained in each of the cottages.

Heating

Economy 7 storage heaters provide warmth for the downstairs living accommodation and the bedroom. A wall-mounted electric fan heater is in each bathroom. Any extra overall heating can be made up with the electric fire in the lounge and/or the portable fan heater. Electric blankets are provided for the winter months. In appropriate conditions the cottages are heated for your arrival.

Electricity supply

Individual coin slot meters for Economy 7 and normal electricity supply are used in each cottage. There is no extra charge for use of the storage heaters.

Linen.

All bed linen is provided together with kitchen towels tea-towels and bath mats. Hand and bath towels may be hired on request.

Short Breaks.

Out of season breaks are available between October and May inclusive excluding Easter, Whitsuntide and the February and October half-term weeks. Pets will be charged at £3 per night. In addition please see the Special Offers section below.
