Cannington Cottages are situated on a small Devon farm set in an officially designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with views to the famous Bluebell Line viaduct behind you and the beautiful Lyme Valley stretching out in front.
We are a small, family run business near the quiet village of Uplyme in Devon. Nearby is the village of Uplyme, with shop, post office and friendly village pub. .
Accommodation available includes two barns, recently converted to a very high standard and a traditional campsite.
Old Orchard Cottage - Sleep 6
Old Orchard is a well-equipped, detached cottage on the edge of the village of Uplyme. The rear garden overlooks fields and the rest of the village and at the front there is a pretty cottage garden.
Kitchen:- The kitchen is fully fitted and incorporates a comfortable dining area. Other facilities include an automatic washing machine, tumble dryer and microwave.
Lounge:- a delightful sitting room with stereo and TV, and a coal-effect enclosed stove.
Bedrooms:- The
accommodation has one double bedroom, and two twin bedrooms (one of which is on
the ground floor). Duvets and pillows are provided. All rooms have views over
local countryside which adjoins the rear garden. On a clear day you can even
see Golden Cap!
Garden:- Enclosed garden has a patio with garden furniture and parking for three cars.

This is a newly converted barn with reverse accommodation so that the kitchen, dining and living areas on the first floor to take advantage of the wealth of exposed beams. There is a newly fitted pine kitchen, bathroom with Mira shower and full central heating. The three bedrooms are all furnished in pine with natural wood doors and wardrobes.
Accommodation comprises of:- Entrance Hall, Ground floor double-bedroom one with views over the lane. Double-bedroom two overlooking courtyard. Twin-bedroom three, with views of lane and the stream. Bathroom with over-bath shower, basin and WC. Stairs lead to first floor Lounge/dining room and well-equipped kitchen with exposed timber features and pine floorboards.
There are two double bedrooms and a twin bedroom in the cottage which
has been furnished to a high standard. The nearest shop, post office, pub, hotel
and restaurant are situated within half a mile, in Uplyme village itself.
The cottages are situated adjacent to Cannington Farm within view of the imposing Cannington Viaduct. The area is one of outstanding beauty and offers a peaceful retreat with the opportunity for incredible country and coastal walks.

Lyme Regis town is only 1.5 miles away and provides interesting and varied shopping. Lyme also boasts a wealth of history, literary associations, geology, fossil collecting and safe bathing.
There are several restaurants including specialist fish restaurants, and real ale pubs which often offer live music. There are many summer festivals, concerts and carnivals in the area. Weymouth, Taunton, Exeter and Dorchester are all within a 25 mile radius. The nearest railway station (Waterloo to Plymouth line) is in the market town of Axminster, which is 4 miles from Lyme Regis.
