Malston Mill dates back to 1740 and was grinding corn until about 1900. It is now a private residence with six luxury cottages set in 16 acres of beautiful Devon countryside.

With an air of timeless tranquillity, the property overlooks parkland and landscaped gardens. There is also a magnificent, well stocked, one-acre lake.

Malston Mill Farm offers a range of deluxe and highly commended self-catering holiday cottages beside a private fishing lake amid the gently rolling hills of South Devon.

With a wide range of beaches and ancient towns such as Dartmouth, Kingsbridge and Totnes within a short drive, Malston Mill makes the ideal base from which to explore the delights of South Devon and Dartmoor

All six cottages are luxuriously and individually furnished to an exceptionally high standard. Original features including millstones, mill workings, old oak beams and exposed stone and brickwork have been retained where possible to maintain the character of the property. Personal details and homely touches are apparent in the tasteful use of fabrics and furnishings.

Waterfall Cottage Sleeps 2 + Cot

This lovely cottage, the latest conversion, has spacious lounge, heavily beamed ceiling, oak panelling, Cotswold stone Minster style fireplace and open fire for cosy winter evenings. Ceiling to floor windows overlook flower-filled courtyard.

Lakeside Cottage - Sleeps 2

Cosy and romantic cottage in traditional style. Situated on the lakeside with views over the water.

Mill Cottage Sleeps 6 + Cot

Mill Cottage is part of the former Mill and in the lounge/dining room many of the original Mill workings are suspended from the massive oak beamed ceiling. There is a well-equipped kitchen with fitted oak units and three pretty bedrooms, the master bedroom having a four-poster bed. Mill Cottage has its own private driveway and a hillside garden that overlooks the lake.

Dairy & Riverside Cottages

The ancient barn which stands at the head of the lake has recently been converted into two charming cottages. Riverside and Dairy Cottages are both furnished to a very high standard each with a four-poster bed in the master bedroom. The decor features exposed stone and brick walls, beams and brass fittings.

General Facilities

Each cottage has a fully fitted kitchen including a microwave, an electric cooker and hob and a fridge with a small freezer compartment.

Every property has a colour TV.

Towels, linen and blankets are included in the rent. Cots are only available in Mill Cottage and Waterfall Cottage; please bring your own cot bedding.

The cost of running night storage heaters and an immersion water heater is included in the rent. All other electricity (including the immersion booster) is by £1 coin slot meter. Log fires are available in Riverside Cottage, Dairy Cottage and Waterfall Cottage, and logs can be supplied at a nominal charge.

There is an on-site laundry with an automatic washing machine available for use free of charge. The tumble drier is operated by a £1 coin slot meter.

There is a pay phone on site.

Indoor Facilities

You may be excused for thinking you are in the wrong West Country because the games area is no ordinary building. It is an exceptionally beautiful construction on an American theme, a theme repeated throughout by the heavy balustrading, the galleried games area with skittles, table tennis and darts, and the snooker/pool room with its Western saloon feel complete with veranda and rocking chairs.

A centre feature with herringbone brickwork and giant chess pieces completes the scene. There is also a fitness room and American infra-red Sauna.

Approximately 30ft x 17ft, the pool has a Gothic timbered ceiling and an upper gallery feature.

Elaborate, detailed brickwork and an inglenook fireplace complete this unique setting.

The pool is heated and open all year for the exclusive use of resident guests.

Coarse Fishing..
Our one-acre lake is stocked with specimen carp, tench and rudd (record 28lbs!). Fishing is free of charge, with a maximum of two rods per person.

4 day short fishing breaks are available off-season.

A wide range of other fishing options, including sea angling, is available in the area.

Outdoor Swimming Pool

Changeover is on Saturdays, with cottages let from 3pm on arrival day to 10am on departure.

Tennis
The en-tou-cas all-weather court is available for use free of charge. Tennis rackets and balls can be hired.

Provisional bookings will be automatically cancelled if not confirmed within 7 days. Cheques payable to Malston Mill Farm.

Deposit:
A non-refundable deposit of 20% is payable on booking. The balance is due four weeks before arrival. We will send a reminder.

Security Deposit:
A refundable security deposit of £50 is payable by a separate cheque with balance of monies. This cheque is not cashed unless breakage or damage to property occur. It is destroyed once Cottages have been checked.

Cots & High Chairs:
These are available on request. Cot bedding is not provided..

Electricity:

Log Fires:
Are available at Riverside, Dairy and Waterfall Cottages. There are also Log burners in Lakeside and Mill Cottages. Logs can be supplied at a nominal charge.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
In the unfortunate event of you having to cancel your holiday (for whatever reason) we would expect your own holiday insurance to cover any losses and our rental to be paid in full.
