Loughbrickland Courtyard provides a comfortable and luxurious base with a range of options. You can easily explore the many delights of south County Down and nearby places of interest in Northern Ireland, or you may opt to take advantage of the beauty and tranquillity of the surroundings to simply relax.
Situated behind historic Loughbrickland House which has been in the possession
of the Whyte family since the early 1700s, and located less than half a mile
outside Loughbrickland village, the Courtyard offers accommodation certified as
5***** standard in two self-catering apartments in the old Coach House
which has been sensitively restored

Accommodation
The Coach House is part of a complex of buildings behind Loughbrickland House
which also includes a restored barn, byres (awaiting restoration) and stables
grouped around a picturesque gravelled courtyard. An archway leads into the old
walled garden where each apartment has a designated patio area with garden
furniture and there is safe playing space for children.
The Coach House has been converted into two self-contained self-catering
apartments to the highest standards of quality and comfort by local craftsmen
using local materials.
Both apartments are wheelchair-accessible:- the living areas are on the ground floor and the doors are wide enough for wheelchairs and there are no steps. Coolnacran has a downstairs bedroom and bathroom and is classified as wheelchair accessible for overnight stays.
All accommodation has oil fired central heating. 'Telephone and broadband are provided in each apartment'
'Each apartment has dedicated washing and drying facilities which are
accessible on a 24 / 7 basis in an adjoining building which also serves as a
'wet room' for coats and boots etc.

Optional extras:- Beds can be made up as singles or doubles as requested at time of booking. Cots
and high chairs available on request.

Accommodation comprises - entrance hall, guest w.c. living room with gas fire, windows overlooking old walled garden.
A fully equipped kitchen corner (including
dishwasher, microwave etc), two double ensuite bedrooms upstairs.
Coolnacran - Sleeps 6 - Wheelchair accessible
'Coolnacran comprises:- entrance hall, living room with large picture windows overlooking cobbled courtyard to rear of House, fireplace with gas fire, fully equipped kitchen corner (including dishwasher, microwave etc); three ensuite double bedrooms one of which is downstairs and fully wheelchair accessible.
Linen and Towels:- are provided at no extra charge. Duvets, covers, sheets and pillowcases, personal towels and tea towels are provided, and also beach towels. Please note that you should bring linen for cots in all cases, including pillows, sheets and blankets. Please do not take towels, except beach towels, to the beach or swimming pool.
Electricity and heating:- are included in rental charge.

Cots and high-chairs :- are provided at no extra charge if you notify us
in advance.
Basic Supplies:- Apart from finding a well-equipped and comfortable apartment ready and waiting
for your arrival, you will also find a welcome basket with tea, coffee, sugar,
milk, salt, bread, butter and orange juice as well as some basic domestic
starter supplies such as toilet paper, some washing up liquid and a cleaning
agent.
Families and Children
Each apartment and garden is suitable for children under normal supervision, but
we must stress that no child or children can be left in the apartments or in the
property without adult supervision.
Please Note:- Smoke-free:
The accommodation offers a smoke-free environment. Many of our guests are non-smokers and as it is impossible to get rid of the smell of tobacco between bookings, we would request guests not to smoke in the apartments.
Pets.
Pets are welcome, but there is an additional charge of £15.00 per
pet per week (£3 per night) and you are responsible for any damage or extra
cleaning. Please bring a bed for your pet.
Our Location
Loughbrickland village is located 11 miles north of Newry and 1.5 miles south of Banbridge, Co. Down, just off the main A1 route which links Belfast (27 miles) and Dublin (73 miles). It is beside a large spectacular circular lake whose focal point is a 'crannóg' or artificial island originating as a place of refuge and retreat from potential invaders in Celtic times.
