Torcroft is ideally situated in a peaceful location offering comfortably furnished self-catering chalets at affordable prices.
The Chalets have great views down Glenurquhart (a view or around 10 miles)
towards the mountains of Glen Affric; a truly beautiful place, which has
recently gained National Nature Reserve status. We are only a short drive up the
glen to Loch Ness and Drumnadrochit, the "Nessie capital" of Loch Ness, where
there is a selection of shops bars, restaurants, as well as the famous Urquhart
castle and visitor centre. We are in a great location for touring all of the
Highlands & Islands, the Scottish west coast, Speyside & beyond. You just won't
have time to see all the splendours of this beautiful part of Scotland & we will
be happy to welcome you back again & again!
The Five self catering chalets- are set on a birch-clad hillside in Glenurquhart, just 4 miles west of Loch Ness, and an ideal base for touring the Highlands. Inverness capital city of the Highlands of Scotland is just 20 minutes drive..
The chalets offer Scottish Tourist Board graded 4 star quality accommodation on this spacious private woodland site. Torcroft chalet park is ideal for families, situated well off the main road and safe for children to play.

Accommodation comprises of:- Two large bedrooms, comfortably furnished, one double & one twin, (you will find all beds made up, ready for use), a bathroom & a large comfortable lounge with colour TV and dining area. You will find everything you need in the kitchen, including a full size fridge , cooker, microwave, toaster, kettle, tea towels, a large selection of saucepans and other utensils.
There are automatic heaters in all rooms. Electric is by £1 coin meter and towels are available for hire if you wish.
Outside:- each of the chalets there
are tables and chairs for your own private use. Sit out and enjoy the view, a
B-BQ.

There is parking close by (3 of the lodges you can park right beside) and the others are just 20 seconds away.
On arrival:- you will find that Tea, Coffee and Biscuits will be waiting for you in your Lodge, along with a pint of milk in your fridge, so you can just put the kettle on and relax as soon as you arrive
The only things you need to bring are yourselves, your food and possibly a drink or two! but if you should forget anything then there are shops at Drumnadrochit just 4 miles from Torcroft, you will drive through Drumnadrochit on the loch Ness road on route to your chalet.
Local Services:- There are local shops in Drumnadrochit, post office, cash machines and a bank, several pubs and restaurants, garages, doctors and churches.
Inverness, the capital of the Highlands, is just 20 minutes by car for
everything else you may need.
Places to visit:- Loch Ness, where you can take a cruise on the Jacobite Queen from Inverness down to Urquhart Castle, (there are several other trips available also).
Visit the Loch Ness monster museum in Drumnadrochit and the new visitor centre at Urquhart castle. All within easy reach of Torcroft.
For the more serious shoppers amongst you the city of Inverness is only 18 miles away. With large modern shopping facilities. Or from Inverness take an open top bus tour around the city and out to the famous Culloden battlefield, even day trips to Orkney can be arranged from Inverness.
Take a drive to the Isle of Skye, (around 90 minutes or so away), also the stunning West Coast to Ullapool, Gairloch and the gardens of Inverewe.
Visit the Black Isle and see the Morray Firth Dolphins at Channory point, (catch the tide right and often the dolphins are only 10-20 meters away!).
Take a ride on the new gondola up Ben Nevis or to Aviemore and the Cairngorms. Visit the Castles trail and whisky trails of Speyside, (take a tour and enjoy a free nip at the famous Glenfiddich distillery at Dufftown).
There are also several great train journeys, including the new Fort William to Mallaig Steam train, described as one of the great railway journeys of the world!
If you enjoy the mountains there's an endless list of walks, from gentle strolls to Munro bagging. You'll be looking from the lodges towards the mountains of Glen Affric and the views from the mountains can take your breath away! There are also river walks and some super water falls to visit. For a gentle evening stroll, walk from Torcroft and enjoy the view over Loch Meikle. Walk up the forest trails and see red and roe deer in their natural environment, see buzzards, red kites and if you are really lucky, sea eagles and osprey over the mountain lochs.
